"Don't you do it darling, we are almost there." I muttered to her softly as I pushed my feet faster than I had ever been before. Cradling this fragile being in my arms, my feet move faster than light itself. We are not that far from home, but I can hear her heart steadily getting slower. Thump...pause...thump... She reeks of that monstrous wolf. He thought his little toxic bullet would stop me, and maybe it would stop just a normal vampire. Not the king. Not me. Athena's cute heart shaped face is swollen and her lip broken and bleeding. Dry blood smeared where I forced my blood into her system. Her outer arm dangles as I run up the steps, her heart stopping as I reach the door. Laying her down on the concrete there, I put her hands gently over her stomach.
