MEGHAN When I opened my eyes, the first thing I did was close them again; the light in that room – wherever I was – was so bright that it was blinding. "Don't worry, babe, I've got this." As soon as I heard that voice – Liam's voice – a powerful calm immediately took hold of me: it no longer mattered, now, where I was. If Liam was there, everything was fine. "There, now you can open them." Not very convinced, I opened one eye first; when I was sure the artificial light had been replaced by natural light, I opened the other one too. And there he was, finally: Liam was sitting next to me, with a tired but happy smile on his face. His eyes shimmered with emotion – and I almost cried too when he brought my hand to his lips, pressing a kiss on it. "Welcome back, baby," he whispered.
