“They called me back.” Dylan announced in a quiet voice.
He had been so happy when we woke up this morning. It was good to have a nice morning with him and the kids but his phone rang as the twins were getting up so I let him answer it alone while I got them. When he met us down stairs he was completely silent, only talking when one of the kids would babble to him but even then there was no enthusiasm. Everyone came down stairs to join us for breakfast and they all noticed that Dylan was silent but nobody questioned it. Danielle, however, shared a piece of his silence.
“Who?” I tried to get him to explain as I washed the dishes while Merrick and Dani played outside with the twins.
