Chapter 5

1188 Words
A lavish wedding ceremony was held to marry Abram and Aliana that day. But what's a relationship and a fancy wedding if the bride and groom don't even love each other? Abram and Aliana seemed like people who never dreamed of being together, but they were brought together in a marriage that made them who they are today. After the wedding, Aliana had to go home with Abram and Hansen to the Holmes family home. She had been escorted but only as far as the living room, the rest of the time Aliana took Han upstairs where Abram's room was because they were asked to rest first. "Mommy... I feel a little uncomfortable so I'm going to take a shower." Aliana smiled, she placed the suitcase by the closet then looked down and opened the ribbon on her son's collar. While when she looked at Abram, he looked as indifferent as their marriage so she couldn't expect much for this matter. "Let's take a shower together, Mommy will help you." Abram who was sitting on the sofa glanced at them with the corner of his eye. This was his wedding night with Aliana, the girl he never wanted and never thought of becoming his wife. But their heated exchange a few years ago had made it inevitable for them to get married for the sake of the business. "It was because of him that I broke up with Silvia." The man's face looked flat as he leaned back. "If he wasn't in that room Silvia and I would still be together. What a piece of s**t!" There was no joy in his heart at all for being a father, Abram's heart was hard as a rock and no one could get close to him except Silvia. That was Abram's only girlfriend and ex-girlfriend so far, so no one could shift the girl's rank in his heart. Pouring himself a drink, Abram let out a long breath. No matter what, this was irrevocable, they were already legally married and there were no more words of divorce because in this country it was very difficult to divorce. They really had to consider everything to be able to get all that. Aliana and Han walked into the room after bathing at a leisurely pace, paying no attention to Abram who stayed where he was because he didn't know what to do. "Go to bed," Aliana said to Han who immediately nodded. "If you're not comfortable sleeping here, Mommy will try to get us to go out." Abram watched her from the sofa, looking relaxed but with a faint smile on his face. Going out? How could he, Abram could face his grandfather, as well as his mother and father-in-law. It was a tough thing, even though he had the power but they also had the same position as him and it was certainly not an easy thing for him to deal with. At the age of putting Han to bed, Aliana looked at Abram who was as still as a statue. "Where did I sleep?" Abram raised his eyebrows, then got up and walked over to the woman. "Wherever you want to sleep is up to you." Aliana sighed softly, she knew Abram didn't talk much, but once he did, he would do this. She knew from the beginning that he would never accept her in marriage, it was because they were two people who were both forced by circumstances. "I know you don't want me and that child of yours," Aliana said quietly as she rose from her seat. "But don't ever think I want you either. I never even wanted to get married, if it wasn't for your sister making the video public I never would have and never intended to find out who did that to me that night. You feel victimized by this marriage, I do too. In fact I've been victimized for several years, are you the only one who feels tormented?" Abram looked the other way but Aliana sighed. "It's all for the sake of image and reputation, I don't want my company to be ruined by gossip either. My son has no father and I am a woman who has been defiled by a man I don't know. It's the most horrible slander ever, I'll never be able to keep quiet because everything has to end. Not accepting me is not a problem for me. But at the very least, provide a good father role for Han, so he doesn't get confused." After saying that, Aliana walked to the bed and slept on the edge of it. Abram could only watch, knowing that the girl could sleep anywhere else or even on the floor. She was the Maherson family's princess, so she was used to sleeping in a warm place. Sighing, Abram walked over to the bathroom and washed up. He looked at his face in the mirror, flat and cold despite his handsome face. "Silvia... I should have married you." Abram sighed heavily. "But it was your fault too, damn it! How could you do that to me! Use me as your tool to make money and then when you catch me inadvertently making a mistake, you immediately ruin our relationship! Poor, ignorant woman!" Abram gripped the sink, his face looking even grimmer. Somehow his frustration had really peaked tonight at everyone he considered to be at fault. He never wanted anything to happen between the marriage he once wanted to have never happened. "Maybe it's my bad destiny like this, what can I do but accept it," he muttered then sighed. "I hope Aliana doesn't act up too much." *** Abram woke up to the alarm going off next to him. The man slept without a shirt, shirtless and showing off his athletic body. Aliana, who had woken up earlier, just stared silently at her son's sleeping face, which looked very similar to Abram's and she had only realized that since the DNA test came out. Abram looked at her sitting with his back to him, until wordlessly the man got up from the blanket and walked towards the bathroom. The two didn't seem to see each other or interact, even when they had to go downstairs to eat breakfast together. "Mommy... Grandpa said he's Daddy Han, right? Why hasn't he made a sound since last night?" asked Han in a low voice but still audible in the ears of Abram who was walking next to Aliana. That made Aliana stare a little at Abram who looked indifferent. Daddy is tired," Aliana said later softly. "It's okay, slowly maybe Daddy can accept Han." Aliana realized she had been wrong to give hope, she shouldn't have done that. Her son could expect a lot while she wasn't sure when he would open his eyes because Abram never cared about them in the first place. "Even if you never accept Han, Mommy is still enough to give Han love, right? Don't worry, okay?" Abram gave them a glance at Aliana who seemed to be correcting her words. "Okay, Mommy... Let's eat, I'm so hungry."
