Episode 1 : The Meeting
Icarus wandered the streets, searching for his next meal. It was a typical night, the darkness of the city enveloping him. As he walked past a dimly lit alleyway, he heard a faint sound of footsteps coming from the shadows.
Curiosity piqued, he approached the alley cautiously, his heightened senses on high alert. When he reached the end of the alley, he saw a young woman standing alone, clutching her purse tightly.
He noticed the fear in her eyes, but there was something else there, a spark of defiance. She wasn't like the others, the mortals who ran screaming at the mere sight of him. He found himself inexplicably drawn to her.
"Are you lost?" he asked softly.
The young woman looked up at him, her eyes widening in surprise. She had never seen anyone quite like Icarus before. He was tall and imposing, with piercing blue eyes and a sharp jawline. But there was also a sadness in his eyes that she couldn't ignore.
"I'm not lost," she replied, trying to sound brave. "Just...taking a shortcut."
Icarus could sense her fear, but he didn't want to frighten her any further. "Well, then, let me walk you to your destination," he offered.
The young woman hesitated for a moment, but then nodded her head in agreement. Together, they walked through the dark and winding streets of the city, making small talk along the way. Icarus found himself surprisingly drawn to her, and he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have her by his side forever.
As they reached the young woman's destination, Icarus felt a pang of sadness. He knew that he could never truly be with her, not if she knew what he really was. But he couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope, a small spark of something he thought he had lost long ago.
"I'll see you around," he said softly, before turning to walk away.
The young woman watched him go, a strange feeling settling in her chest. She had never met anyone quite like Icarus before, and she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.
As Icarus walked away, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. He knew that he had to keep his distance, to protect her from the danger he posed. But he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have her by his side, to share his eternity with her.
The meeting was brief, but it had left a lasting impression on both of them. They would meet again soon, and their lives would never be the same.
