Jessica couldn’t help but smirked as she left Mr. McBride’s office.
She felt that the man was attractive to her. It was very clear in his eyes. The sudden desire that appeared in his eyes and the excitement.
She simply put the cup of coffee on top of the executive table and simply looked at him in the corner of her eyes. She saw the man fixed gazes at her chest.
Her chest was one of her best assets and she knew when to use them just like now.
But as for Jefferson, it looked like there were really things that never changed. She knew that very moment that the man would soon be falling on her hands.
“Jefferson McBride, it won’t be too long and I know that you will be mine again. I will do all my best for you to fall in my trap. I need to get what's mine,” those were the words that ran to her mind as she walked towards her desk.
She just got hired as the secretary of Jefferson McBride. A friend helped her to get employed at the McBride company. It was an opportunity that she wouldn’t miss.
She made herself busy in front of the computer. She tried to learn all things and finish whatever tasks were given to her. Though, the tasks were just easy for her since she finished bachelor of Business Administration with flying colours.
She knew how to play her game. It was not enough for her to see the attraction that the man had for her. She would do anything that would impress her boss so she could get closer to him. What she wanted was for the man to trust him.
Well, not just as a secretary but also something else.
She was so engrossed in her work when she heard the door from Jefferson’s office opened.
“Your name is Jessica, right?” Jefferson asked as he looked at her.
She nodded and said, “Yes, sir.” She stood up.
“Do you need anything, sir?” She asked as she met his eyes. Those eyes were the ones that really caught her attention back then.
Her heart was throbbing so fast and she didn’t know why. She was there for a reason and not because of anything else.
“Yes, come with me. I am going to attend a meeting with Mr. Oklahoma but Alan can’t come with me. I need someone to take note. So, come with me instead of him,” Jefferson said in an authoritative voice.
Upon hearing that, she immediately turned off her computer and stood up. Jefferson didn’t have to say another word to persuade her to come with him. She was new with the job but she definitely knew what to do during meetings.
Inside her mind, it was an advantage for her. She took her tablet along with her bag and followed Jefferson as the man headed inside the lift.
There was a deafening silence inside the lift when they got there until they arrived at the entrance of McBride building.
Neither her or Jefferson spoke again.
Thankfully, there was already the driver who was waiting patiently for them.
They just got inside of the car when she suddenly heard Jefferson’s phone ring.
She was just quietly sitting as she listened to Jefferson. The man answered the call and suddenly his expression changed.
Obviously, he was not pleased with the conversation that he was having at that moment.
She couldn’t help but frown when she noticed that. He also sounded irritated to the other person on the other line.
Without thinking for long who it was, he knew that it was his mother and she proved herself right when she heard him say mom.
She tried to divert her attention outside of the car until they arrived at their destination.
There were a lot of things that were running inside of her head and she couldn’t wait for her plan to succeed.
She just had to make sure that she would be acting according to her plans.
It didn’t take long and they finally arrive at their destination but Mr. Oklahoma wasn’t there yet.
He heard him call Jefferson and said that he was still stuck in traffic. Jefferson just nodded and the call ended.
They went inside the restaurant and were guided to their designated table. By the looks of the place, it looks like a common meeting place for business men like Jefferson.
People were all in their formal attire.
They sat on their table and were given a menu.
She was going through the dishes when she suddenly heard Jefferson speak.
She couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking.
What question might he ask her? Would he say that he is interested in knowing her? But wouldn’t he be acting so fast?
God. She wanted to be angry at herself because of overthinking.
She shook her head and then smiled at him. “No, sir. I don’t mind at all.” Though inside her heart, she was hoping that Jefferson would be asking about her relationship status.
Of course, she would definitely answer no. Suddenly, she wanted to scold herself for thinking so much.
She had to stay calm. Even if she was already beside Jefferson she had to be careful not to get obvious of her real purpose. One mistake and she knew that she would be doomed.
She had waited for this moment and she couldn’t just ruin it. She had to think straight whenever she was with Jefferson and not to be carried away by her emotions.
“Well, I just want to ask if…” Jefferson wasn’t able to finish whatever he was about to say because of the voice that they suddenly heard from behind.
She quickly gazed in that direction and she saw how Jefferson stood up. He greeted the woman and the man who were in their fifties.
“Jefferson, when will you introduce us to this beautiful lady?” the old woman says smiling at her.
