Chapter One: The Code to the Lock
"Miss me, Counselor?" The words burned hot against her skin before the memory fully took shape. For seven years, Stephenie Moore had played her part in the world of respectable women perfectly. She was the pristine corporate attorney. The devoted wife. The woman who belonged in white marble and quiet luxury. Yet as she stood in her immaculate kitchen years later, the law degree on her office wall felt like a thin veil over a much darker truth. She was not the woman Luis married. She was a certain kind of woman, and Elvis was the only one who held the key to the lock. The air in that old apartment had been thick enough to swallow. It was not just the August humidity or the way the radiator hissed even in the summer heat. It was the sheer, suffocating weight of him. Outside, a thunderstorm tore through the city, lightning illuminating the cracked ceiling plaster in jagged, strobing bursts of white. Stephenie was not looking at the storm. She could not look away from his eyes. "Tell me you do not want this," he growled, his chest a furnace pressed to her back. Every hard line of him was molded to hers, stealing the air from her lungs. "Lie to me and I will stop right now." She could not speak. She could not lie. The memory was not a gentle flicker. It was a gasoline fire, instantly dissolving the sterile perfection of her present life. She was no longer standing on cool polished floors. She was pinned against cracked plaster, the rough grit digging into her cheek through her blouse while he held her hips in an unrelenting grip. "Look at this," he murmured, his hand sliding down between her legs, fingers dragging through her wet, slick heat. His low groan was a sound of absolute satisfaction. "All dressed up in your power suit, all sharp lines and rules... and you are soaked for me already. So ready you do not even know how to hide it." He circled her center with a slow, firm pressure that made her knees buckle. He did not wait for her permission. Before she could catch her breath, he drove into her in one brutal, seamless thrust. He went deep and unyielding, filling her completely, stretching her to her limit until she saw stars. Her head fell back against his shoulder. A raw, guttural cry tore from her throat, broken and breathless. There was no slow build. No gentle lead in. It was the full, heavy weight of him claiming her all at once, taking back something that had always belonged to him. He set a punishing rhythm immediately, driving into her hard and fast. Each stroke slammed her hips back against his while her chest scraped the plaster with every push. The friction burned, sharp and overwhelming, every nerve ending in her body screaming to life. "Oh, God..." she whimpered, the words trembling and broken, spilling out before she could stop them. "God is not here, Steph," he rasped, his teeth grazing the sensitive line of her neck, biting just hard enough to leave a mark. His hand came up to curl around her throat, not choking, but firm, tilting her head back so he could whisper right against her ear. "Just me. Only me." He shifted his hips, changing the angle so he hit that deep, perfect spot inside her with every stroke, again and again, until her legs shook and her hands scrambled uselessly against the wall for leverage. "That is it... right there..." she gasped, the plea falling out of her as her body arched back into his, begging for more. His answer was a sharp, stinging smack against her hip, loud and clear in the quiet room. It was a sound of pure ownership that sent a fresh jolt of heat straight through her, forcing her to clamp down around him. "Elvis!" "Take it," he growled, thrusting deeper, the sound of skin on skin frantic and relentless. "Take every inch of it." The tension coiled tight in her belly, winding tighter until it was almost unbearable, until she was sobbing his name, her fingers digging into his forearms, her whole body trembling on the precipice. "Come for me, Steph. Come apart and admit who you belong to." The words snapped her last thread of control. She shattered with a loud, broken moan, her body convulsing around him as every muscle seized. The pleasure was blinding, rolling through her in wave after wave. He did not slow down. He drove her through the aftershocks until she was limp and shaking, barely able to stay upright. Then he pulled out. The sudden emptiness hit her like a physical blow, cold and aching where his heat had been seconds before. She gasped, swaying, her hands still braced against the wall as her chest heaved. Before she could turn, his hand fisted in her hair, pulling with just enough force to spin her around and yank her head back, forcing her to look up at him. His eyes were dark, pupils blown wide, his chest rising and falling fast while sweat glistened on his skin. He was still throbbing, heavy and glistening with both of them. "Open up," he commanded, rough and absolute, guiding himself toward her mouth. "Open your mouth for me, Counselor. Show me how grateful you are." Her lips parted without hesitation. He slid onto her tongue, heavy and hot, the taste of salt and raw arousal flooding her senses. It was intimate, filthy, and more intoxicating than anything she had ever known. She hummed low in her throat, swirling her tongue around him. His hips jerked forward, a shaky groan tearing out of him. "Fuck... just like that... good girl." He set a slow, deep rhythm, pushing into her mouth until she gasped, until tears pricked her eyes, until she was breathing through her nose and taking every inch he gave her, looking up at him the entire time, never breaking eye contact. "That is it... look at me..." he groaned, his hand tightening in her hair, his thrusts growing faster and more desperate. "Take it all... take every drop..." With a final, shuddering movement, he pushed deep and came, spilling himself onto her tongue, thick and hot, his whole body trembling as he emptied himself into her. She swallowed it all, slow and deliberate, licking him clean when he was finished, her eyes never leaving his. She was quiet, unyielding, claiming this power just as much as he had claimed her. "Do not look away, Steph," he whispered, his voice rough and breathless as his thumb brushed her swollen lower lip. "Own what you are. Own this." Beep. Beep. Beep. The kitchen timer sliced through the memory like a scalpel. The heat vanished instantly, replaced by the sterile chill of her open concept kitchen. The gold and red hues of that sweat soaked apartment evaporated, leaving Stephenie standing in a sea of blue and grey. Her hands rested on the edge of a white Macaubas marble island, cold, unyielding, and perfect. She blinked, the fluorescent recessed lighting stinging her eyes. She wore a silk blouse that cost more than a month of rent in that old apartment. Her hair was swept back into a professional, sleek knot without a single strand out of place. Looking down at the oven door, the polished stainless steel acted as a distorted mirror. She saw a successful partner at a top tier firm. She saw a woman who never missed a deadline or a workout class. Yet as she stared at the reflection of the woman Luis married, she felt like a stranger wearing her own skin. This house was too quiet. It was clean to the point of feeling uninhabited, like a museum dedicated to a life she was supposed to enjoy. "Timer is off, honey. Need a hand?" Luis walked into the kitchen, the embodiment of warmth. He wore his Home Chef apron over his work clothes, his sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms that were tanned and capable, but never threatening. He moved with predictable grace, a man who never broke things, never raised his voice, and never left a mess behind. "I have got it," Stephenie said, her voice sounding thin even to her own ears. As she reached for the tray of roasted organic vegetables, their hands brushed. His skin was soft, his touch a gentle, supportive pressure. He leaned in and pressed a sweet kiss against her cheek. It smelled like laundry detergent and peppermint, safe, wholesome, and heartbreakingly kind. "Nice," she whispered to herself, but the word felt like a lie. The touch triggered a second flash, a violent intrusion of the past. Suddenly, it was not Luis's gentle hand on hers. It was Elvis's fingers threading through her hair, gripping tight enough to force her head back, his touch demanding and rough, stripping away her dignity and replacing it with a terrifying, electric euphoria. A shiver raced down her spine like a jagged bolt of lightning in a clear blue sky. She pulled her hand away a second too fast, pretending to adjust her oven mitt. "You okay?" Luis asked, his brow furrowing with genuine concern. "You look a little flushed. Rough day at the office?" "Just a long deposition," she lied, turning back to the stove. "Well, you can relax now," he said, sliding the salad onto the table. "I was thinking, since we are finishing the master suite remodel next month, we should really look into those smart glass partitions for the bathroom. I saw a brochure today. It is very modern, very clean. What do you think?" He kept talking as they sat down. He spoke about the renovation, a funny email his manager sent, and the schedule for the charity gala next weekend. He was natural husband material, the kind of man who would never forget an anniversary, who would always hold the door, and who would radiate safety until the day he died. To the rest of the world, Stephenie had won the lottery. She had the career, the house, and the man who served as her sanctuary. Yet as she sat there watching him chew his perfectly seasoned chicken, listening to the rhythmic, silent sweep of the designer clock on the wall, the sanctuary felt like a tomb. She watched him, and all she could think about was the woman screaming behind her ribs, the one who did not want smart glass or organic vegetables. She took a bite of the meal. It was technically perfect. It was exactly what she had asked for. It tasted like absolutely nothing. "It is great, Luis," she said, forcing a smile that did not reach her eyes. "Everything is just... perfect." Her name was Stephenie Moore and this was her story.
