Episode25-Summoning Rimalon

2770 Words
Mael is in the school dungeon. Only that it doesn't have chains and cells but it has thousands of candles lit inside making the place shine so brightly then there are lots and lots of books, a single bed and a side wooden table. After Mael's first feeding, his abilities have heightened but he is still very weak. Mael is gradually pacing back and forth when a sharp piercing pain pricks him on his birthmark. "Ouch," stretching his hand to reach for his back but the pain disappears immediately like it never happened. Mael knows deep down that the recent events are just showing him what is coming. He isn't even prepared for it. He hasn't trained for anything. How was he going to put his powers together and become what is expected of him? He has always been invisible and now he is used to it. Being visible and relevant is another huge transition for him and he needs time to master all that, which by the way he doesn't have. After so many arguments the council decided that Mael should be around people he is familiar with. Maybe that can help his transitioning go smoothly. "Mom? Dad?" Mael calls them, confused as they appear through Hunters to the holding. "What are you guys doing here?" "Oh, son, the school wrote to us about what happened." Embracing him in a tight hug, "are you okay, baby?" Amara begins to shed tears. "I am fine, mum. Just a little bit weak." "What happened, son?" Lucas ruffles Mael's hair. "I don't know. I c-can't remember? I can't remember a thing." He sounds so unsure. "Nothing shakes your memory?" "Nothing at all." "What is the last thing you remember?" Amara is wiping her tears with the back of her hand. "That myself, Melody and Harry were in the corridor and the next thing I am here." "Elixir!" Looking back and forth between Amara and Lucas, "what is an Elixir?" "Nothing to worry about son. Get some rest. We will drop by before we leave. We have to attend to something very important." "Okay, mum." Lying on the bed, "mum!" "Yes, son." "What if Melody and Harry? Are they okay?" "Yes, they are very much fine." Walking to the left side of the room, facing the wall, "ah, almost forgot. Mael, I need a droplet of your blood in this necklace." "What for? That sounds weird." "Trust me, son, I wouldn't be asking if it wasn't important." "Yes, mum." Amara produces a pin from her hair, pricks Mael finger with it and put the dropping blood into the necklace she has around her neck. The blood touching the necklace turns from the pure diamond crystals was to a red crystal. So bright as if it was on flames. She hangs it back around her neck. 'Get some rest, son." Lucas says, hugging Mael before walking back to the wall. Amara smiles at Mael, blowing him kisses and equally goes to where Lucas is standing, holding hands, both of them disappears with a whoosh of wind. They have scattered glimpses of what happened that did not form a connected sequence as Mael tries so hard to remember. He focused and meditated but nothing is working. Instead, they come in flashes and disappear as soon as they come. It is so frustrating for him not to remember. It is like his memories have been sucked away and he has been given a clean slate to start a new one. But, that isn't what he needs in a time like this. To be blindsided once more. Why was it so difficult to remember? He could still remember his name and basically everything else. This particular incident is what has become a wind. Totally gone. Once more, as he lay on his bed, Melody and Harry appear from Hunters. "Mael!" Harry rushes and hugs him, looking pleased and relaxed. "Hi," Melody shyly waves, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ears. "You both are well. That is a relief." Mael hugs Harry once more and pulls a shy Melody into a warm embrace. "What are you guys doing here?" "We, my dear, are here to bust you out. Prison Break!" Harry jokes. "Can that be done in this weird school without you both getting caught? I mean even before you succeed, Hunters would very well alert everyone just like he did two last night!" Mael grunts in anger. "Hey. Hey. That was just a joke. Don't take it out on Hunters. What we did was very foolish. I mean, we could have gotten ourselves killed. Hunters saved us." Harry taps Mael on the shoulder, "with that said, get your ass out of bed. Rabbi Humbledore asked us to take you back to the dormitory." "Really?" "Yes. You are not a prisoner. It was mainly to check if you were okay after the incident." "What incident?" "I don't know. You should know." "I can't remember a thing. Nothing at all. Everything is in bits and pieces. Mum and Dad even tried to get me to remember." "Mum and Dad?" "Yes. They were here, a few seconds ago but had to leave." "Our parents are here and their first child, Harrison Vandisia doesn't know? I am so disowning both of them. That is heartbreaking." Giggling, "oh, please, give me a break. You wish." "Mael, look. Your finger is bleeding. Why is your finger bleeding?" Melody speaks for the first time. Looking at it once, "it is nothing serious." Before he even finishes his sentence, the hand has healed. "Dude! It is gone!" "What is gone?" "The stuff on your finger. It has healed up. That is so cool. Maybe I should cut and see if it will heal up." "Nope. Thank you. None of that. I am already so weak. I guess it heals when I put my mind to it because it has been there before you guys arrived." "The key to mastering our abilities is the focus. Put your mind to it, clear all distractions and you are unstoppable," Melody says. "Stop making it dramatic. That gave me goosebumps. Come on Mael, let us get you out of here. It is creepy in here." "You think? Wait till you spend twenty-four hours staring at the stone walls, candles and books. It looks as if I was about to get exorcised. It is scary and too calm. I hope the school is okay." "It is fine and kicking. In fact, we need to get going because we are about to have Professor toad and you know that, that young man doesn't like us very much." "I hear ya." Trying to stand, he falls back on the bed, "ouch!" "Hey, what is wrong?" Melody asks, reaching out to his hand. "My birthmark, recently, it has been burning. Then the pain disappears almost immediately." "You have a birthmark?" "Melody, don't make it sound like you've seen this guy shirtless. It is like asking, Mael, you have abs?" Harry jokes. "Stop it, Harrison. Let us get to class." Melody and Harry help Mael to Hunters. "Ah, the troublesome trio, again" Hunters grunt. "The one who betrayed us," Harry mumbles, rolling his eyes. ********************* Amara and Lucas are back at the chambers through Hunters. The council members have been waiting early for their return. It is enough that the one safe ground that they have is falling apart but to add that Mael almost got out of hand, nearly turning Mackenzie to stone, is not what they need to be in the dark about. Their powers then are no match for his when he truly matters it all. "Amara, what did he say?" Rabbi Humbledore looking eager and attentive. "He remembers nothing. The vampire's blood was contaminated with Elixir. That is what wipe his memory and made him weak. Whosoever that went through all that trouble must be up to something serious." Handling over the crystal with Mael's blood, "professor Mackenzie we must find out what is happening at once. This is getting beyond us." They once more gather around the table, Mackenzie with magic, bring forth a knife. She hands it over to Rabbi Dumbledore. "Let it be agreed upon that the council has everyone involved. No matter the consequences of what we are about to do, we all shall pay the price. It is for the good of the Five Kingdoms." Rabbi Humbledore uses a sharp knife to cut his hand and pours the blood into the goblet placed in the middle of the table. "Agreed!" The rest echoes. And one by one, they cut themselves open and pours their blood into the goblet. "Rimalon, you have been summoned. For we know not what is going on. With the blood of the twelve elders and that of a king, the twelfth, we lead that you show yourself. For we are from all the Kingdoms. A witch, vampires, Ice lord, a fire lord, an air lord, a true messenger and even commoners with pure blood. To bind it all, the blood of one who has it all, the chosen one who has been battled and forged with fire, purified with Ice, bent with air and sealed with the powers of a vampire. We are nothing more than mere messengers. Without you showing us what to see and where to go, our steps will be on the wrong path. Rimalon, show yourself!" Mackenzie falls to the ground as the last of her powers has been drained out. The goblet begins to boil, puffing out smoke upon smoke until it explodes into bits of smoke filling the chambers. Everywhere darkens, like it is night already. Professor Edward helps Professor Mackenzie up. They all stay put. The smoke as if wandering in every corner of the room, gathers at the middle of the table and forms a figure. It is Rimalon. Sighting her, they all bow. "What is it that you seek?" Rimalon asks. "Answers. We are in the dark. Your prophecy has begun to manifest but yet we know not what to do." Rabbi Humbkedore looks up to the high ceiling, "we need your help." "For I cannot answer all that you see but I can tell you, the boy is the key to our doing or undoing. He doesn't know because he has not been taught to know." "What happened to the ground of peace? To the woods of punishment and the vampire?" "If I tell you all the answers then I would have lied to you with most of them. With time you will find out all that you seek. The veil has been weakened the more and when he tears completely, something is coming from the other side." She begins to face, "the boy is the key," her voice fades out completely. "We just paid an ultimate sacrifice to hear more parables. Interesting. How do we go about this?" Edward has always known that this day will come. Been a historian he had forewarned them in one of their council meetings to come up with a plan that this day would be inevitable. What he fought against in Antigon as one who was once married to an Antigona is coming back to him. "Edward is right. We went through all the trouble just to be led to another wall. A stone wall with no direction on how to get through it." Ellen says. Amara rising, "you all are missing out one point. The fact that Omiri needs us more than ever. If we figure out what to do with him then we will come up with a plan that leads us to defeat our enemies. It is not enough that we seek a solution but we need to first seek out the problem. When we know what the problem is, then we will need no one to find a solution for us. The most important thing is that we now know that a war is coming and the key to win or lose it, is with us. We have indeed seen and fought greater wars but not one like this. We have never dealt with a war like this. Let us make allies instead of enemies." "Well said, Amara. I, Rabbi Humbledore has given Marl the freedom to continue as a normal student but we know that he isn't ordinary. We must keep a close watch on him. Pay attention to all that concerns him and make sure that the eleven of us teaches him all that needs to know. There is no time but we need not push him. He is delicate and at the same time, stronger than we know." Turning to Amara, "Lucas and Amara, go and see your kids. Council is dismissed." ************ Melody, Duke and Harry are trying to comfort an angry Mael, who seems very disappointed because he can't remember what had happened. They had returned to the resting chambers while waiting for their different classes. The waiting chamber is a hall with chairs and nothing else. "Mael, you need not worry because it is normal to forget especially when you are afraid of that thing. One time I was so scared of Halloween that my brain blocked out that period. Whenever it was Halloween I couldn't remember what it stood for but I knew that I was forgetting something." Duke comforted. "It doesn't feel right that I forgot a major deal of event within a puff of time. I want to remember. I really want to remember. It is like I've partial amnesia. Living in the dark. It is unfair." "Hey, buddy, you will remember. All we need to do is try and do things that will trigger that process. No need to worry." Harry is still hugging Mael when Sky appears through Hunters. "Mr. and Mrs. Vandisia are here to see you Harrison Vandisia and Mael Vandisia as the well informed. Principal's office. Now." "Who are those?" Duke asks. "Our parents." Harry drags Mael by the hand following Sky. "Good thing they heard my thought. I would have disowned them both if they didn't see me before leaving." They follow sky to the Principal's office through Hunters. "Dude, who is the principal?" "I don't know." "Molly Holly Polly. Him?" Harry blurt out as soon as he sees who it is. The office is old vintage with a chandelier in the middle holding rings of candles and hanging are pictures of Humbledore on the wall and pretty much everywhere around the office. Lots of books on the shelves, behind his desk and seat, a bird in a cage chirping in one corner and low music playing from an unknown source but it is very loud. "What is going on?" "You keep asking me as if we both didn't just get here at the same time." "Children." "Mum!" Harry plunges into the arms of his mother. His father grabs Mael and they end up having a group hug. "I thought you guys wouldn't see me. That would have been the end of your parenthood with me." "I wouldn't miss seeing you for the world." Amara tucks the strands of Harry's hair in order. "What are you guys doing here?" "The school sent us a letter that both of you got into trouble so we had to come over. You boys are breaking school rules. That is bad. Really bad." "Am sorry, mum. It was Mael and Melody's idea." "I am highly disappointed in you both!" Lucas moving close enough to them so that they are the only ones hearing him, "how was the adventure? That is what being a man is all about. Taking risks and exploring. But don't do that next time." "Oh, please, Lucas. Don't enjoy the boys. Do you want them to wind up dead or lost? Both of you behave from now henceforth and Mael, how are you feeling?" "A little unstable. My birthmark has been burning like crazy but then it stops as soon as it starts. I've been feeling weak since yesterday." "You will be fine. We have discussed with the Principal to give you a bit of extra attention." "T-the principal is Rabbi Humbledore? No wonder he had so much authority and precision." Harry seeing the series of awards and pictures of Humbledore with some other people on the left side of the wall tries to go for it but Lucas drags him back. "Young man, don't wander around in someone else's space. We love you both. Now get to class." "We love you too!" Echoes both of them before their father pushes them into Hunters
