Episode33-An unexpected vistor(B)

2004 Words
The place that Mael finds himself in is dark and cloudy. The only source of light is from the little flickers of the spark that he is making with his hand. The creature keeps snarling and hiding from Mael. He can only see his shadows. "Stop hiding, you coward!" "I am not hiding, you peasants. Killing you easily will be no fun. I want to make you wait while I crush you with just my bare hands." "I'll like to see you try." Mark keeps moving around in circles as quietly as possible but is interrupted when he hears someone screaming his name in that darkness. "Who could that insane person be?" Mael mutters. "It is me, Melody," she whispers. "And me too, Harry." He whispers. "What are the both of you doing here? I thought I told you to stay." "Well, we can't let you have all the fun by yourself. This wonderful adventure, no way." "Where is it?" "Around. Snarling. It is just too scared to show its face." "The party just got entertaining. Two more dinners to eat. My lucky day." Making a lightbulb out of snow, the entire place can be seen. The light shines brightly and they catch sight of the creature just around the corner but as soon as they see it, it disappears. "I see a doorway. Let us lure it inside and then lock it away. That way we could trap it." Suggests Melody. "That is a great idea," Mael mumbles “Good idea,” says Harry nervously. They spilt into two, Melody making fake light flickers to distract it and Mael with Harry, walking at the edge towards the open door, mouths dry, shaking and meditating that the creature doesn't smell their fishy plan and attack them. About to come out of where it hid, with one great leap, Mael manages to grab the key, slams the door, and locks it.“Yes!” Excited with their victory, they start to run back towards Melody, but as they get to her just around the corner, they hear something that made their hearts stop — a high, pitched scream — and it is coming from the chamber they’d just locked up.“Oh, no,” says Harry, pale as an ancient vampire.“It’s the Blue House” Mael gasps.“Oh no!” they say together. It is the last thing they want to do, but what choice do they have? Their victory has just been short-lived because instead of defeating it, they just sent it back to the dormitory. A big problem! Turning around, they jump back to the door and turns the key, fidgeting in their panic. Mael pulls the door open and they run inside. The Blue House is on fire, students running in different directions and most of the things there, broken. One fragile girl is hugging the wall, looking as if she has been drained of blood. The hideous creature keeps advancing towards the girl, knocking whatever it found in its way off as it goes. “Melody, Confuse it!” Mael eagerly says to Melody, and, grabbing one of the broken tiles, he flings it towards the creature as hard as he could. With one wave of her hand, she conjures tiny pieces of snowball using the nearest water as a source of power. With that snowball, she begins to throw them at the creature. The creature stops a few feet from the scared girl. It stamps around, squinting stupidly, to see what just hit him. With anger and full force, it plunges towards Mael, opening its mouth wide and raising its strong hand as it went. "Peasant," hiding, " this is the end of your miserable life." Roaring it tries to hit Mael but he slides out. "Run, run. Come on!" Screams Harry at the girl in a corner. The creature raising its snake head tries to strike Mael but he slides away from it. "I told you that you are nothing but a big scared ugly thing!" Yells Mael. Standing in his track without moving or wavering, Mael snaps his fingers and a heavy wind begins rustling, shaking and moving the creature from left to right and from right to left. "Enough!" It blows out fire from its dog head. "It breathes fire?" Harry says shivering as he points at it. The scared girl hasn't moved an inch. "Come on! Move!" Harry yells at her, reaching for her hand, trying to pull her toward the door, but she doesn’t move, she is still flat against the wall, her mouth open with terror. Melody begins to make the legs of the creature freeze with her powers. Mael joins her forming fire out of his mere hands. The creature is struggling to break free from the bondage but to no avail. With full force, it stretches its neck and strikes but the fang misses. It roars again, barks and hisses. Out of nowhere, it breaks free and makes for Harry. Mael with bravery takes a great jump and lands on the lion head of the creature. It couldn't feel Mael hanging there as the two other heads are trying to attack Melody and Harry. Mael commands a broken sink, with the sharp edge stabs it to the creature's neck. Shrieking in pain, the creature twists and flails its hand, with Mael grabbing firmly around the neck. It has been noticed that someone is on their head. Seconds later, the creature tries to fling Mael off him by using its hands and trying to catch or rip him off. The girl has gone back to the floor in fright; Melody pulls out her hand — not knowing what he is going to do she hears herself praying to the Ice god for strength: “oh, great Kiran! Help your daughter with strength never seen before. I want to defeat this. Let all around be a source of power for me.”Inhaling deeply, she conjures a sharp knife out of ice. She commands them to face the creature and suddenly, they went flying high up in the air to nowhere else but the neck of the creature. The creature starts wobbling, losing balance. Mael, the scared girl all put their abilities together and form a large sword forged with Mael's burning fire, Melody's ice, the girl who is a witch uses her power to bind them all. With a command from Mael, the sword thrusts deep into the heart of the creature. It sways, purple substance gushing out from the open spot until the creature falls face flat with a thud on the floor. Howling one last time before it exhales. The four are shaking, out of breath. Mael moves closer to the creature but says nothing. “Is it — dead?” the witch girl asks.“I don’t think so,” says Hardy, “I think it’s just unconscious.” He bends down and pulls the creature's hand but it doesn't flinch. "Right! I think it is dead. “Urgh – hideous.” Harry scrunching his nose, looks away. "What were you doing here when everyone was instructed to go back to their dormitories?" "Excuse me?" The girl snaps. "You were supposed to be in your dormitory as instructed. Why are you here?" Harry snorts "Uhmm, if you haven't noticed this is the Blue House common room. Somehow, someone gave that disgusting thing access to this place." Mael and Harry at each other without uttering a word. Melody on her end is admiring their handiwork at defeating the now die creature on the floor. A sudden slamming and loud footsteps made the four of them lookup. They have been too busy trying to defeat the thing and have not paid attention to the commotion they've caused. But, of course, with screaming and wailing students, running in different directions it would get the attention of the teachers. A moment later, Professor Mackenzie comes flaring into the room, closely followed by Edward, with Task behind them. Task takes one quick at the creature and lets out a whimper, moving quickly away from it to a safer distance. Edward bends over the creature. Professor Mackenzie is looking at Harry and Mael. She looks like water can boil if a pot is placed above her head. She is fuming. They have already seen it on her face that they were in trouble. "What happened here?" She finally asks with cold and empty emotions. Mael, Harry, Melody and the girl all at each other but maintains absolute silence. "No one wants to explain this to me? Why are you all out of bed, to start with? How did the four of you end up creating such a mess? Edward gives Mael a swift, piercing and interrogatory look. Mael diverts his eyes and maintains to keep them away from staring into any of the teacher's eyes. Then a small voice comes out from behind, Harry. “Please, Professor Mackenzie — we were just trying to fight it off. It came out of nowhere.”Miss Grant, you four are lucky because it could have killed one or all of you. How could you all be so careless? Taking matters into your own hands when you should have reported to any of the teachers!”Mael pulls himself together and speaks. " We all were retiring back to our Houses when we heard a scream. It could have killed Melody because she was the one trapped in the bathroom when the creature attacked. We only tried to help out. I — I thought that that is what Rayvin Academy stands for. Being courageous no matter the situation. We only exhibited what we have gotten from the Academy so far." "They saved me too. When the creature somehow found access to the Blue House, they fearless followed it here. Making sure that all the students got out unharmed. Except for me because I was so scared that I froze and couldn't move." Miss Grant testifies. Both Mael and Harry could not understand why both ladies were presenting them as some kind of superheroes when in fact, the four of them had done great work together. With each other, he is pretty sure that the creature would have been biting on one of the heads, enjoying its free dinner. But, if the ladies were trying to save them, it is working. Because a faint smile curled up on Edward' slips and Task is shaking her head in amazement at how they could have taken care of such matter as if they are adults. Mael and Harry had straight faces, looking as the that is what had happened. Sighing, "well, judgement would not be passed on you..." "Yeah." The four in happiness. "You did not allow me to finish." "Sorry, professor," they say one after the other. Looking lost and sorry. "As I was saying, judgment will not be passed on you four for now. The council will discuss this and decisions will be made later on." Professor Mackenzie says, staring at the four. Miss Grant hangs her head with eyes wide. Mael didn't say anything else. "Back to your dormitories. We will discuss these issues later." Professor Mackenzie makes sure that they each pass through Hunters, back to their different Houses. She looks around one more time, "they are brave. I hope the council will pass an exemplary judgement. Not so many will stand up to a creature such as this." Turning to Professor Task, "we need to collect and inspect this creature. Seeing one was a long time ago. It is very rare to come by. Professor Edward, we have to make sure that this doesn't happen again. It is a good thing no one got hurt." "Yes, Professor. The school is proving to be getting weaker as each day pass by. Something must be done and we have to be fast about it." "Omiri has proven today that there is still hope." Professor Task says.
