I had woken up the next morning with something pressing on my bladder. I quickly made it to the bathroom.
I emerged from the bathroom as Sawyer was waking up.
"Morning," I smiled as I walked over to the bed. I have found it really hard to sleep with clothes on at night, so the only thing I sleep in is panties.
"Morning, sexy momma." Sawyer smiled a devilish smile.
I crawled over his lap so that his shaft was against my heat. His hands went to my hips. My hands rested on his chest.
"Mmm I like the sound of that." I smirked.
He gently pulled my hair then sat up. His lips landed on my neck, as I rubbed against him. His hands massaged my back.
Just as his hands found my breasts I felt something strong hit my stomach. Sawyer looked at me in shock.
"Was that what I think it was?" Sawyer asked placing his hand on my belly that was slowly getting bigger. I smiled. I put my hand where I felt another.
"I think it likes the sounds of our voices together." I smiled as we both felt another decent kick.
"I think so too," Sawyer smiled, then kissed my lips. I removed myself from his lap so we can head down for breakfast. Sawyer handed me one of his t shirts and a pair of my yoga pants.
Once breakfast was over I heard the sound of a car coming down the driveway. I didn't recognize the car at all.
"What does the sheriff want?" Jason asked.
Sawyer shrugged his shoulders as the a man with back uniform and black hair with deep brown eyes exited the car.
"I am looking for Alison Elizabeth Daniels." The man said.
"That would be me," I stepped forward.
"Miss Daniels I would like to have a few words with you about a serious matter." The sheriff spoke.
"Officer, I'll tell you everything I know, but I'd like to know what the matter is." I replied as calmly as possible.
"Alright, Do you know a James O'Connell?"
"As a matter of fact, I do. That man is a horrible human being and should go to jail." I said with hate.
"I see, may we talk inside please?" I agreed. I will comply with the sheriff. I don't want to risk losing my baby to that man.
Sawyer put on some coffee for the officer. Jason sat quietly at the table.
"Alison, I assume you know why I am here?" The sheriff spoke.
"Yes to talk about James, but why?" I asked calmly.
"I have received a report from the Boston Police Department that you threatened him with a shotgun, is that correct?"
"Yes that is true, but I have spent years living in an abusive relationship with him. He must have followed me here. He showed up one day then made some serious threats himself." I started to shake in fear. Sawyer put his hand on my shoulders.
"I don't take kindly to a man who abuses women. That baby you are carrying, is that James's or Sawyer's?" The sheriff asked. I instinctively placed my hand on the bump.
"The last couple of months, he would come home drunk and blindfold me then proceeded to r**e me." My breathing was shaky.
"I have enough here, do you have photos of the abuse?" I pulled up the photos and I could see the sheriff's face go red. "Alright, I have all I need. He will be suffering the consequences of his actions. Does he know about the baby?"
"No he does not, and he doesn't deserve to know." Sawyer spat with hate.
I gave the sheriff my contact information if he has any more questions. He congratulated Sawyer and I on the engagement. Sawyer beamed with pride when the sheriff told him that he did a good thing in stepping up for the baby.
I sat on the couch unsure about how I should feel. All I know was that James was finally getting what he deserved.
Jason rode out to check the fences. There was a bad storm last night and some trees may have been knocked down.
Sawyer said he was going to check on Phoenix. I guess she's been antsy today. She has been circling in her stall.
I decided to get some flowers together for the barn isle. I added some leave ribbon and burlap ribbon to it as well.
I wasn't sure how long I had worked on the flowers for, but I was feeling a bit tired.
The next morning I woke up to sky e commotion out in the barn.
I got dressed and grabbed a muffin from the basket that was sent from the police department. I smiled.
People here are very accepting. I made my way to the barn the weather was changing. The leaves started to turn leaving a fall theme in the air. I loved fall.
When I entered the barn Phoenix was pacing. Sawyer was trying to calm her down. She saw me then jerked the lead from Sawyer's grasp.
I grabbed her and calmed her down.
"I woke up and I heard her. She was thrashing around in her stall. I came out here as fast as I could." Sawyer breathed as he walked over to me.
I felt for her babies.
"This is why." I said putting my hand on her belly. "The babies are moving around." I said taking Sawyer's hand and put it on Phoenix's belly.
"I can only imagine what she must be feeling." He said looking at me.
"It's only for a few more months." I said "But the bigger we'll get the longer the pregnancy will feel." I sighed.
"Just a few more days we'll be married and find out what we're having." Sawyer said. "Come on, let's get her in the paddock."
We put Phoenix away with the other horses and she ran off to join them. Sawyer was getting a heating system installed today while I started to get the barn in order for the ceremony.
Jason put up the lace banners over the stalls. I made sure the twinkling fairy lights we're working. Then I had James up them up as well. The barn looked fantastic.
When I got into the house to get lunch started. I felt a more defined kick that made me stop in my tracks.
"You are going to drive me insane," I smiled.
We sat down ready for lunch. Sawyer made me sit while he brought the food to the table.
He said that I already worked too hard today, and that I should relax.
How could I have gotten so lucky to be with a man like Sawyer? I thought to myself as I ate my dinner.
