Chapter 7

1315 Words
It is the morning of my first of many doctor's appointments. I am slightly nervous. My nausea comes and goes through out the day, but it's mostly when I am thirsty. So I almost always have a water bottle with me when I am outside. It's the July came and went faster than I expected. August is here. Phoenix is also pregnant. That's why she's been super moody, but wonderful with myself. Sawyer didn't know that when he rescued her. Technically we are due around the same time, she was just bred a couple months before she was supposed to be. Sawyer told me all about the breeding times for horses. February should be my due date, but we will get an exact date later this morning. Jason will stay here to get some horses ready for a local trail ride to end the summer season. Sawyer happily volunteered to take me to my appointment. "You ready, baby?" Sawyer called up from the stairs. I was struggling to button my shorts. I grabbed a hair tie to keep them up. "Coming, honey!" I called back. I don't know if I'm eating better because of the pregnancy, or if it's water weight I've put on. 8 weeks pregnant so far is insane. "What are we going to say if they ask if I'm the father?" Sawyer asked as we turned on to the highway headed towards town. "That's up to you, I honestly wish this baby was yours. I never wanted a child with that jerk, but it happened. And just because of the situation doesn't change the love I have towards the baby." I said as I rested my head on Sawyer's shoulder. "You'd really be okay if I said yes to being the father?" He asked hopeful. "Blood doesn't make you a father, anyone can be a father, but a true man can be a dad, just with a caring heart and accepting the fact that a child that isn't his, but loves that child more than anything else in the world." I said smiling up at him. Sawyer kissed the top of my head. Thankful that I accept the love he has for this baby. Every night we have deep conversations as we cuddle. My nightmares have ended, finally. Jason is happy with the fact that Sawyer held me together. He still watches over my like a big brother should, but now that Sawyer is in my life. Jason actually took a step back, and let Sawyer step up. I am thankful for these wonderful men in my life. Sawyer always makes sure that one get my vitamins first thing in the morning with my breakfast. Most mornings it's breakfast in bed, with chamomile tea. With that breakfast tray Sawyer always places a single rose in a small vase. He's the kind of man that a woman like me doesn't deserve. We pulled up to the doctor's office, and Sawyer helped me out of the truck since I still have motion sickness. Car rides don't help much. We walked up to the receptionist and I got checked in. A few minutes later we got called back to the room. The nurse took my weight, and height. I even have her my pre-pregnancy weight as well so she has a baseline to go off of. She said that I gained 10 pounds. That explains my problem this morning with my shorts. She took down my medical history. I told her about the abuse with my ex, and how I ended up pregnant, and that Sawyer will sign the birth certificate when the baby is born. She seemed happy that this last month had turned around for me. Then the doctor came in for the ultrasound. The gel was warm, which was nice. She took the wand and was moving it around to find a heartbeat. She showed us that I am about 8 weeks and three days along. We saw the baby, and heard the heartbeat. I cried happy tears. This child may not have been conceived out of love, but it will know what it means to be loved. We got a print out of the ultrasound, and set up the next appointment in 4 weeks. "I had never heard a fetal heartbeat before." Sawyer said as he started his truck. "That was something I learned I'm medical school. I was thinking about becoming an OB, but I dropped about because a medical student can't be abused and be a medical doctor at the same time." I sighed. It has always been a dream of mine to be a doctor. "Have you thought about going back?" He asked. "I have, but I have a new dream." I smiled and placed my hand over my small, but growing bump. "I still can't believe that the baby will be born around Valentine's Day." Sawyer smiled, and put his hand over my belly. "Due dates can change, it was just an estimated date. We'll know more as the baby grows." I learned into his side. We arrived back home, and I saw Phoenix pacing in the corral. Sawyer helped me out of the truck, and we rushed over to her. She calmed down when I entered the pen. "Easy girl, I'm alright. So is the baby." Phoenix snorted and put her head gently on my stomach. I moved to place my hand where her own baby was growing. "We'll be due around the same time, I just hope there won't be a snowstorm." I said looking at Sawyer. "I can get a heater installed for her stall to keep her baby warm if the temperature drops." Sawyer said smiling at me, and came over to pet Phoenix. It's just worries me, if I go into labor before she does she'll be freaking out the whole time. I need to be there for her." Phoenix rubbed her face on mine telling me that everything will be alright. The vet will be coming out later this afternoon to do an ultrasound on Phoenix as well. I just hope it goes well. Once the vet came to do the ultrasound I was happy that everything was doing fine, and that she is also due around Valentine's Day. That worried me the most. The vet showed me the foal. I almost cried. I have never seen anything so special like that before. My own baby obviously, but never a horse. Later that night Sawyer kept pressing into my backside as he trailed his hot breath down my neck. I had turned over to face him. His lips landed on mine and his hands pulled me on his lap so I was grinding on him. He had flipped me over so that I was under him. My fingers were tangled in his hair as he entered my center. His thrusts started out slow, but they moved faster. I was close to my orgasm. "Sawyer," I whispered "Alison," he breathed. He tensed as I came around him. I could could feel his shaft twitch as his c*m coated my walls. His hips jerked. We laid there breathless. "I love you, Alison. And it's not the s*x talking. I truly do love you." Sawyer said looking into my eyes. "I love you too, Sawyer. And it's not just me saying it back. I mean it." His eyes lit up as he moved to kiss me once more. He laid back down and I rested my head on his chest. His arms were wrapped around me, and I laid my arm on his abs. I trailed my fingers along his abs tracing the muscles, memorizing how they felt like at any moment I'll never see him again. I looked into his eyes as he was watching me. He smiled, I smiled back. I truly am happy. I was finally getting my happily ever after.
