Chapter 7

Rowena ***Dream*** "Baby, that's the wrong way." Mother had told me. I looked up at her as she said to me for the fifth time that I was doing it the wrong way. "Sorry, mommy," I said once again. "It's okay. Just try again. Focus all of your attention on the tree." Mother told me as I once again focused everything on the tree we were facing. That day had been another lesson about using my powers but, just like every other lesson day, I couldn't get a grasp on it. My body focused on the tree and imagined a blossom blooming on it. After 5 minutes, nothing happened. Again. I sighed. "I'm never going to get this," I said. "Sure, you will. You just got to try something else." My older brother, Zane, said to me. He took my hand and showed me a stick. "Try it on this stick. Focus on it and imagine something forming on it." Zane said. I did that over and over again and got the same results. "Hmm... try this. Close your eyes, picture a butterfly forming on the stick, and focus your energy on making it real," Mommy explained to me. I did that. I imagined a blue butterfly and black crescent moons all over its wings, just forming on the stick in Zane's hand. When I opened my eyes, I watched as the same butterfly formed on the stick. "You did it!" Mommy shouted. Daddy came over to see. "Daddy, look," I said with a big smile. "I see. Baby girl, what is with your fascination with black crescent moons?" Daddy asked me. "I don't know. I just think they're pretty. I feel safe when I see the crescent moon in the sky." I explained. "Rowena, it's time to wake up." I heard a voice say. "But I am awake," I said. I was baffled. "Wake up, Rowena." I listened to the voice again. ***End of Dream*** I woke up to Jaylen, lightly shaking my shoulder. "Wha... Jaylen, what's going on? What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing is wrong. But, we need to get you ready to meet the pack." She told me. "Okay," I said before getting to my feet. I grabbed a change of clothes and headed into my bathroom. I guess today is the day we're having my joining ceremony. Oh, boy. Jaylen After she got out of the shower, she got dressed and came back into her bedroom, sitting at her vanity. She was dressed in a pair of skinny black jeans, a black tank top that kind of slides down from left to right like what Joan Jette wore, and her red leather jacket with a pair of converse. I straightened her long red hair until it shined, and she decided not to wear any makeup. "Are you ready to meet everyone?" I asked her, and she nodded. She slipped a locket around her neck. We stood up and left her room. Then I guided her to the meeting room. On the walk there, we talked a little. "When the pack accepts you, you may feel a slight pain in your head but, don't worry. That's just the pack link forming." I explained. "What if they don't accept me?" She asked me worriedly. "Don't worry. They will. You're the Alpha and Luna's adopted daughter. They'll have too. But don't be intimidated by them." I told her reassuringly. She still looked a little doubtful. "Don't worry about it. Dante will be right there with you every step of the way. Aria will be too. They won't let anything happen to you." I told her, putting my hand on top of her head gently. She sighed softly and let out a small "okay." Then we got to the double doors of the meeting room. Well, here goes nothing. Hopefully, she'll be alright.
