Chapter 5

Rowena

The next day, when I woke up, I spoke into the mind link.

'Seth, are you still going to tell me stuff about the pack?' I asked, hoping he would answer me.

'Yes, Rowena. I will still tell you about the pack. Why don't we get that child from yesterday and go to the park?' He answered after a few minutes.

'Alright, let me get dressed, and I'll let you know.' I said before closing the mind link.

I climbed out of my bed and went to my closet. I grabbed a pair of dark skinny jeans and an oversized tee-shirt. Then I grabbed my converse and slipped them on before grabbing my backpack and running out the door. I ran to the kitchen and started making some things for lunch before also making a quick breakfast.

'I'm in the kitchen. If you like, you can join me.' I said after opening the mind link to Seth again.

'I'll be right there.' He said before closing the link.

As I was looking around for something to make to drink with our lunch, I sensed him enter the kitchen. "What are you doing?" I heard him ask from by the doorway. "Just making stuff for lunch for us. Juliet will most likely get hungry while she's playing at the park." I told him, keeping my eyes on what I'm doing. "You know how to cook? But, you're still so young?" He asked me, sounding shocked. "Well, yeah. In my old pack, I was Omega and had to cook for all of the pack members while not being able to eat anything myself. I didn't mind cooking; I enjoyed it. My mother was the one who taught me how to cook when she was still alive." I explained as I kept working. He didn't say anything and just let me do my thing.

When I finished, I followed him to where the Beta family lived. I knocked on the door, and a beautiful woman opened the door. "Yes, may I help you?" She asked when she saw us. "Hi, I'm Rowena, Alpha and Luna's adopted daughter, and this is my friend Seth. Uhm, we spoke to Beta Shayne yesterday about watching his daughter today and were wondering if we can take her to the park with us." I said while smiling with my eyes closed and my head tilted to the side.

I heard the woman gasp, and I opened my eyes to see why. She was staring at me with her eyes large, and she was smiling. "Someone is willing to watch Juliet? You said you're Alpha and Luna's daughter. Yes, I was hoping to meet you myself soon. Of course, you and your friend can watch her. I have stuff I need to do, and I don't want her to get in the way. Just please, have her back by five o'clock, and please watch over her." She said. I bow respectfully to the woman, knowing that this was the Beta Female. "You have my word. We will keep her safe." I told her. Then a little girl came bounding up to us. "Miss Rowena, where are we going to go today?" She asked me in her cute voice. "Hey, there, Juliet. I figured we go play at the park." I told her, kneeling to her level. "Yay, the park!" She yelled out while jumping into the air. I look up at her mother. "We'll be sure to bring her back by five," I told her, and she nodded before closing the door. Then we headed to the park.
