Chapter 9

715 Words
Rowena I continued telling the pack my life's story. I was slightly mad at the man and was practically snapping out the words. My voice was rising slightly from my anger. "8 months after my parents' murder, the Alpha started making passes towards me. He even tried to rape me, but my brother saved me. After the first time, the Gamma and my brother started training me at hand to hand combat in secret. The lessons went on even after my brother disappeared when I turned nine years old. From age nine and on, I had to clean up after the pack, feed them, do the laundry and babysit the kids with no pay and little to no food a week. On top of that, I was getting beaten regularly, called names, and slapped around. I've nearly been raped over fifty times." I whispered the last part while tears streamed down my face and after I had climbed out of Beau's arms. "The day I got chased out, I got thrown out of my cot. Yes, I said cot, not a bed." As I explained what happened that day, I went back to that day. *Flashback* My eyes snapped open to see the green eyes of my Alpha staring down at me. I quickly stood and bowed. "Alpha, what do you need?" I asked him. He didn't answer. Instead, he took a step towards me while I took a step back. It continued like that until my back hit the wall. When I saw his hand reach out towards me, I flinched, trying; to no avail, to get farther away from him. I tried to dart around him, only to have him grab the back of my shirt and throw me into the wall causing my head to collide with the wall making stars dance across my vision. "Alpha, what are you doing?" I cried but, he still didn't say anything. Suddenly, he grabbed the hem of my shirt with one hand and began lifting it. That was the moment I realized what was about to happen and let my instincts take control. I smashed my fist right in his face. When my fist made contact, he cried out in pain and shock, and I realized I broke his nose. *End of Flashback* When I turned back to look at the pack with tears steadily pouring down my face, I saw that everyone had looks of sympathy on their faces. "I was also fed wolfsbane as I grew up without knowing it. I can still communicate with my wolf and wolf change, but it takes a long time for my wounds to heal, and I become exhausted more easily." I said as I turned around and had Beau take the bandages and everything off my head, revealing the major wound on my head. I heard an extensive collection of cries. Some of the mothers even broke down in tears at the sight of my still healing, life-threatening head wound. "This is why I broke my Alpha's nose. That is why he chased me out of the pack. So, don't tell me I should've treated him better." I said as I looked at the floor. It was silent as Shaun patched everything back up, me wincing in pain now and then. "We want to help find your missing brother." I heard someone in the crowd cry out. It sounded like a girl about my age. "I know where he might be. I can tell Alpha Beau the information, and he can tell all of you. The pack can make a plan." I said as Shaun was finishing up on my head. Beau spoke up then. "First, everyone needs to decide on accepting her." He explained. After a few silent minutes, I felt an eruption of pain crash into my skull that lasted about 5 minutes before I felt nothing but something linking me to the whole pack. After everything was said and done, Aria took me to my room so I could lay down and rest. She helped me change into something more comfortable to sleep in, and I lay down on my bed. It wasn't long before darkness consumed my world as I fell into a dreamless sleep.
