Chapter 14

Beau I was working on some paperwork to send to the council when my door suddenly slammed open. There stood a shaking Rowena and a terrified and confused Jesse. At first, I thought something happened to scare her but, then I noticed her vibrantly glowing green eyes and the crescent moon mark on her forehead that was on full display. I also heard her non-stop growling. "Rowena, what is the meaning of this? Why are you not in the infirmary in bed?" I asked her. "Alpha, be careful. You might set her off." Jesse warned me. Rowena growled louder and glared at me. "Don't patronize me, Beau. I'm far from the mood for it." She said, her voice was rougher than usual. Oh, she was more than angry. This little girl in front of me, the sweet, gentle caring little girl, was stark, raving mad. "What is it, Rowena?" I ask more softly, hoping not to set off the ticking time bomb in front of my desk. "He's working for Micah. That bastard was hired by Micah to infiltrate our pack. He did this all, for that bastard Alpha, who doesn't even deserve the title." She growled out. For some reason, I was starting to sense an intense power from her. I couldn't put my finger on it. "Alright, how about we just calm down. Take a seat and explain to me what you're talking about," I said calmly and softly, all the while Jesse was furiously shaking his head at me, trying to shut me up. 'He looks like an i***t. Why is he trying to shut us up?' My wolf questioned. Before I could respond to him, I was cut off by an incredibly ferocious snarl and growl, and suddenly, I felt a heavyweight bearing down on my shoulders and the urge to submit. Virgil was whining and shaking his head in mine as he ended up lowering to his belly inside my mind. "Don't tell me to calm down, Beau. I refuse to calm down until all of those evil bastards are dead and in hell." Rowena's voice was deeper, rougher. I looked up, just now realizing that I had bowed my head in submission. Her eyes were now a mixture of swirling ocean blue and green, and her mark was glowing against her skin. I could see her canines peeking from between her lips, and her hair grew longer. I could see thin silver hair lengthening on her arms and legs, and her ears grew to a point at the tips. Her clipped nails had grown too sharp, deadly talons. 'What the hell?' I thought. I watched as Jesse placed his hand on her arm. "Rowena, stop this..." He was interrupted as a half shifted Rowena suddenly swiveled in place, snarled in his face, and her nails came in contact with his arm. You could hear the sound of tearing flesh. I smelled the blood. 'Aria, Jaylen. We have an emergency. Shaun, we need a tranquilizer in my office right now.' I shouted into the pack link. I lowered my frame a little and placed my hands in front of me a little low. "Rowena, I know you upset. I know you are completely furious. You don't want to hurt anyone else, do you? Please, turn back to full human." She growled even louder. She placed her hands against the sides of her head. Her body lowered to the floor, and this strange half screams half growls came tumbling out of her mouth. I heard a gasp by the door, then suddenly, Rowena turned toward the sound. Before I could shout out a warning to Aria, Rowena's half shifted form was charging at her with her nails aimed at her. Just seconds before she made contact with my mate, I heard a small sound, then Rowena's body froze before falling limply to the floor. Her body automatically went back to full human. I sighed and sagged with relief. One of my warriors, Ramsley, came in and picked her up. Shaun wrapped something around Jesse's bloody arm. I saw a couple of my warriors. "Ralph, take the Luna to the infirmary to sit with our daughter. Stay with her at all times until I say otherwise. George, come with Jaylen and me to the cells." I told them. Ralph walked Aria to the infirmary, his hands on her arms to steady her as she was shaking from fear. George, Jaylen, and I went down to the cells until we reached the last one. There on the floor was a sleeping Seth. He had sweat pouring down his body, and his breathing was somewhat labored. I opened the cell door, stepped in, and kicked his foot harshly. He jolted up and to his feet in an instant. When he realized it was me, a smug look crossed his face. I looked at him blankly. "I was planning on letting you leave. Make you a rogue. But, that was before I heard certain words come out of my daughter's mouth. I've changed my mind. You'll still leave here but, it won't be with your life." After I said those words, a terrified expression appeared on his face. "Jaylen, do you wish to begin?" I asked her. She popped her knuckles. "Hell, yeah." She said as she came closer. Both of his arms and legs were broke by the time she finished. He had a couple of fractured ribs and a black eye. When she finally stepped out of the cell, I stepped closer to him. "Any last words?" I asked him. "Yeah, how is the stupid b***h of mutt you call your daughter?" He spat at me. I got so enraged that I took his face between my hands in a second and twisted his head, effectively hearing a snap come from his neck. When I released him, he fell to the ground in a heap of lifeless trash. "Let's go. We have a mission. I need everyone who is going to meet us in front of the packhouse." They all rushed out after hearing my words, and I began making the announcement that everyone needs to meet up and be ready to move out through the pack link. Hopefully, it all goes as planned, and everyone makes it back alive.
