Chapter 4: It was all an hallucination

1196 Words
The ride to the shop was a good one. Sylvia bought me so many nice clothes. They were so beautiful that I didn’t know what clothes to choose for today’s game. She also took us to a hair stylist. After a series of “Please, I just want to keep my hair in a low bun,” She didn’t give a f*ck and forced me to sit anyway. “Just close your eyes, and allow the hair stylist to do her job. If after that, you don’t like it, then I promise you that we will get you back to your original state. Deal?” Sylvia asked. I didn’t say a word, I just closed my eyes as a way of accepting her deal. Fast forward, I had been closing my eyes for the past hour. Then suddenly I felt the stylist gently tapping my shoulders. “We are done, miss.” She whispered in my ears. I first took a deep breath before opening my eyes. It was the first time I ever styled my hair, so I didn’t know what it was going to look like. Just when I opened my eyes, I was mesmerised by what the lady did to my hair. Damn, I was so beautiful! She braided the front part of my hair and assembled it in the middle, forming a bun. Next, she wrapped the bun with a candy pink ribbon. “Are you smiling? I thought you wanted to remain natural?” Sylvia playfully said. I cupped my hands around my mouth and shy away from her. -:- In my tiny room, I placed the clothes and shoes Sylvia got for me in my wardrobe. Next, I took a cold bath and went to bed. I kept staring at the time for me not to be late. Well, Sylvia said she was going to take me over so we could go together. I took out the portion of stake she bought for me on our way home. I had literally taken nothing since morning. I ate and drank almost a bottle of water. ‘You look gorgeous!’ Darah linked me. It just dawned on me that she had been silent for a whole while. The Darah I know will constantly flood me with her questions, even stupid ones. “Thank you.” I linked back. It didn’t take long before Sylvia knocked on my door. This time she had changed and applied some makeup too. She was wearing a mini pleated skirt, a white crop and high heels black ankle boots. “Are you ready?” She asked. I nodded my head and we sauntered out of the building. Reaching the school’s pack, there were lots and lots of wolves. Ranging from our pack wolves to other pack wolves. Sylvia grabbed my hand and we started walking to the section where our pack members were seated. I suddenly felt nervous when I could see Nina’s head. I wished I could go back home and return later. Sylvia held me tightly and wouldn't let me shake. I guess following her was the only option left. Seated and scanning the whole surroundings, I fell on Gabriel, in his attire. He looked hot as ever, with his silky kinky hair that was left sleeping on his neck. He waved and I waved back. He kissed me in the air and I kissed back. For a period of ninety minutes, we watched the finals. Though the other pack footballers were tricky, our pack still won theirs. I could hear our pack members cheering the guys, so I cheered too. “Yes, that’s it guys.” I screamed in joy. The game was now over, and it was time for the leaders to hand the prizes to our pack’s team. Sylvia and I left our seats for the field. We wanted to have a brighter view of how they were going to give the prizes. For unknown reasons, when we got down, Gabriel was nowhere. How could he leave without saying a word when he was the captain? “Hey, Justin, have you seen Gabriel?” I asked. Justin was Gabriel’s best friend and would probably be the next beta of the pack. They were always together, so I thought of asking him. “Humm… he didn’t go far, I think he’ll be here in a minute or so” He said politely. Just then, I felt someone grab my waist from the back. I turned only to find Gabriel. He was even more handsome than last night. “Was someone searching for me?” He asked, playing with my hair. “I just wanted to see you, that’s all,” I shyly stated. “Okay, let’s have a seat. There's a lot of sun here.” He said, and I followed him. Sylvia excused herself. Seated and talking about the high school game, Justin burst out with two soft drinks in his hands. He was in the company of Nina. “Here, dude, have a drink.” He handed the first drink to Gabriel. Just when he was about to hand me the second drink, Nina seized it from his hand. “I’m gonna have this. If she needs a drink, then she should go get herself one. After all, she is the pack’s maid.” She sniffed. “Common Nina, you shouldn’t behave like that. I purposely got these drinks for them. You told me you didn’t want to drink.” Justin started speaking but then she interrupted him. “Yes, by then I didn’t feel like drinking. Right now, I want to drink. Is there a problem with that?” She snarled. While they argued, I hoped I could tell Justin that there was no need to argue with her over a drink. A bottle of drink was one of the least problems I had. It was midday already and there was still no signal from the moon goddess. “Let’s go.” Justin held Nina’s hand and forced her to walk away. “Let me go Justin, I just wanna be with Gabriel.” She said, trying to release Justin’s hold on her. He was huge, so it was impossible. At that moment, I stared at Gabriel just to find out how calm he was during Justin and Nina’s conversation. He would never allow a girl call me a maid in his presence. But today he looked different. He sounded like a total stranger. “Gabriel, what’s going on?” I asked, but I got no reply from him. His eyes were fixed on Nina. She was seated on the other side of the field and was looking at him too. “Gabriel, please let’s go back to the pack house, I am not feeling fine.” I said pretentiously, but he didn’t give a f*ck. He didn’t even pay attention to what I was saying. His eyes were fixated on hers. And hers wandered on him, and they seemed lost in each others eyes. I was certainly not a fool. My heart skipped just from the shocking realization. Gabriel had found his fated mate, and she was not me…
