Lisa,
Getting up the next morning, I was sour. I felt a dull pain around my head. Gently massaging it, I thought it was going to stop, but it didn’t. It kept intensifying to the point that I had to let out a low growl. I had no idea that this s**t was going to wake up my darling who was handsome in his sleep.
“Darling, what’s wrong?” He quickly got up and asked with a look of concern.
“Oh, nothing really serious. I don’t think you should get worried.” I said pretentiously.
“Okay…” His okay sounded like he wasn’t assured, but then gave me the benefit of doubt.
I looked through the curtains only to find out that the sky was getting brighter. Holy s**t! I had forgotten myself in Gabriel’s room. Forgot that I had to get up early and clean the whole pack before leaving for school. Now it’s probably late.
While thinking of all that, Gabriel could sense I was nervous. He placed his hand on my shoulder and gently tapped them, “What’s it this time around?” He asked, his breath hot and arousing.
“I was supposed to clean the whole pack this morning.” I said, quickly climbing down his bed.
He held my hand, making it impossible for me to move an inch, “I am now the Alpha, I can get someone else to do it. Besides, I want you by my side after all that happened between us.” He said and my cheeks swelled up in a smile, but then straightened back.
“Don’t you get it? Luna is going to kill me if she doesn’t see me around. I don’t even want to talk about Nina,” I said. Once I mentioned Nina’s name in our conversation, he trailed off. Though I noticed this, I brushed off the idea.
Holding tight to my hand, he kissed the back hand. “Today marks the end of your suffering in this pack. Once you emerge as the luna tonight, the rest will be history.” I smiled, knowing he was right. But then, there was this little voice playing tricks in my head.
“Have got to go now, see you in school.” I said, taking the door.
“See you darling, don’t forget the school game.” He whispered.
Oh s**t, how come I forgot that? Every ending of the academic year, our pack high school goes into football competitions with the high schools of other packs. The orchard pack is blessed with talented footballers that we always get to win the games.
This year’s competition was hosted in our pack. Last year, it was hosted in the Silver moon pack. I didn’t attend any of the matches because, as a common cleaner, the Luna wouldn’t allow me to go anyway. She said the games weren’t for people of my status.
This year, after finding out through Sylvia that it would be hosted in our pack, I kissed the walls as I thought I would finally be able to attend all the matches. Well, it was all assumptions. At least, the Luna permitted me to watch the finals, so yeah, I’ll be at the field today.

In the kitchen, chopping off the onions and green spices that would be used for the sausages, I heard huge footsteps coming in my direction. I could bet that it was one of the betas who came around to control. I hadn’t even finished speaking to myself when I came in contact with Nina’s crazy head.
She was wearing a short, tight skirt that showed off her thighs, a butterscotch crop top and heels. Her piano hair was left swaying over her shoulders. She was a beauty indeed.
“Where did you go last night?” She sniffed, though her voice was low, it was intimidating enough.
“After the party I went back to my chamber, beta.” I lowered my head before answering. I was not good at lying, so I couldn’t take the risk of looking at her in the face, or else she was going to detect I had told her a bunch of lies.
“Oh really?” She asked, smirking and sending her tongue out.
“Yes, beta.” I replied.
She smirked one more time and left. Without saying anything, I was sure she didn’t gulp down my story. Still holding onto the knife, my hands tightened around the grip as I thought there was a possibility of her being aware I slept in Gabriel’s chamber.
‘Stop panicking and concentrate on breakfast. You wouldn’t want to commit an error this time around, right?’ Darah snarled. ‘Did you forget all the pack members would be dining in the pack house today. I need not to remind you how hated you are by them.’
She reminded me and I quickly gathered myself into one. I remember how I was punished some days ago because salt had slightly surpassed in the fried rice I prepared for the pack house. I kneeled in the middle of the courtyard for close to ten hours. I won’t want that to repeat itself.
Breakfast was ready. I made waffles, oatmeal, chicken wings, cup cakes and served them at table.
The pack members were already at table, including Gabriel, before I started serving. While others maliciously glared at me, some threw slangs at me. Well, I was used to them already, so it didn’t bother me. I couldn’t just wait for midday to arrive, so the moon goddess matched me to Gabriel.
Hi
I had finished serving now, but kept standing and waiting for the Luna’s orders. Until she asked me to leave, I had no right to leave. Standing still, my head was lowered and my hands lightly folded.
I watched them eat without complaining. That simply meant I had done a good job.
“You can leave.” The luna snapped.
“Thank you luna,” I bowed before dashing out of there.

It was 9:00 AM, and the school game would begin by 11 am. Going through my closet to search what I was going to wear. It just dawned on me that I almost had nothing to myself. No expensive wear, no good clothes or shoes.
Several times Gabriel tried offering me gifts but I didn’t accept. I knew the luna was going to scold me if she ever spotted me with anything expensive.
Ding!
A knock came from my door. With all the stress and the sweat sipping off my pores, I managed to get to the door. I opened the door only to see Sylvia. I first hugged her with a brilliant smile.
“It’s nice seeing you this morning, Sylvia. I didn’t see you at the breakfast ground and I also couldn’t come to your house. You know…”
“Yeah, I do understand. I was still home tidying up some stuff. When I arrived you had gone already.” Sylvia said, her lips edging up in a smile. I know she had something else in mind.
“I know that face.” I said pointedly, “What other surprise do you have for me?” I asked.
“Holy s**t, I think you’ve succeeded in reading all of me.” She murmured, “You are right, I have a surprise for you. Since today is the final of the schools game, and also the day Gabriel would be meeting his mate. I thought about taking you out for shopping.” She said, still smiling.
“Oh no, you shouldn’t bother. Before you came, I was searching for what I was going to wear,” I replied.
“Hahaha” Sylvia began laughing, “Are you honestly going to wear one of those to the school game? Do you know news arrived some of the Silver Moon Wolves that you are Gabriel’s girlfriend? Would you like to wear one of those to be around him?” Sylvia asked, and I shrugged.
“I know that what I have here isn’t the best of clothes, but then I don’t want you to spend. You have already done enough for me.”
“Shut up, big head, I will never be tired. Get your bag and let’s go shopping.” She said. It was more of a command than a question. I took my bag and sheepishly followed her. We entered her sports car and drove off.
