Chapter 2: One night stand

I didn’t have enough time to ask Gabriel why he wanted to see me in his chamber, as the Luna requested his presence. I dare not withhold him from attending to his mother.

We had our secret site where we usually met. Behind our high school, there were some abandoned cabins. Though old, but classic enough to accommodate us. That’s where we secretly discussed without anyone in the park being aware of our whereabouts.

How come he was changing our venue tonight? What if his mother caught me in his chamber? Was he going to be bold enough to let her know I was the girl he had secretly had a relationship with all this time?

Brushing the idea off my mind, I returned to the kitchen and made sure I cleaned the surroundings. The plates, the cutleries… everything was f*cking clean. After carefully rearranging the things in their rightful position, I sauntered out of the kitchen, returning to my basement.

I took a quick bath and jumped on my bed, still reflecting about what I was going to do. Render myself at Gabriel’s chamber or play deaf ears. The only person who could tell me what to do was Sylvia. But she wasn’t around. She must be with her parents by now. Her mom has warned her several times not to work with me. I guess I would have to fend for myself.

On one hand, I really wanted to be with Gabriel, but on the other way round, I was afraid of what could happen to me should in case any of the maids or even the Luna spotted me around her son’s chamber. I lied flat in bed and was gazing at my ceiling, counting all the squares that were designed over them. I guess that’s the only luxury I had in my room. Other than a Kane chair, a table full of cleaning materials, and a little mirror bumped by the wall. Oh… I also forgot- my late parents' portrait.

‘Whoa, will you get out of that bed and get ready for Gabriel? I’m sure he is waiting for us.’ Darah; my wolf disrupted my thoughts, making me sigh. Glaring at my wristwatch, it was 9:35 Pm and I was f*cking not ready.

‘What are you still doing there? Get out of that bed and let’s go.’ I heard her say again. If not for the sake of patience, I would have sent her to the back of my mind.

After some minutes more, I got out of my bed and was ready to meet my boyfriend. Darah was right, Gabriel was surely waiting for me by now.

Reaching to my closet, I took out a pink skirt, a white hoodie and flipped it on me, accompanied with low black slippers. I turned off the lights in my basement and slowly closed the door, making sure even my closest neighbor didn’t get to find out I had left the quarters.

On arriving at the large courtyard, there was a large fire pit burning and loud music playing too. It was more than 10:00 PM, but the pack members were still out and celebrating the new alpha. Amongst them was the ex Alpha, the Luna, Nina and Annabelle; Gabriel’s younger sister. This one hates me so much. I’m sure if she gets to find out I’m dating her brother she’ll explode.

I hid behind the beta’s door and observed the whole place carefully. Gabriel was not in their midst. I guess he was in his room.

Quickly, I continued walking behind houses and making sure no one saw me until I arrived at Gabriel's chamber. His door was open, so I didn’t have to knock before entering.

The dim light made it impossible for me to spot him. I could feel his fragrance in the hall, but him… nope!

“It’s practically over an hour since I have been waiting for you.” I gasped just after hearing his sultry voice.

“Hey, chill. I didn’t mean to scare you.” He added after realizing how scared I was. Walking up to me, he locked me up in an embrace. I could feel his bare muscular chest over my petite skin.

He disintegrated from the hug and locked the door behind me. Then switched on the light. Finally, I got to see what he looked like when he wasn’t wearing a shirt. I swear that he was more than handsome.

“Let me help you sit down, it looks like you're gonna keep standing if I don’t say a word” He stood opposite me, placing his hands on my shoulders and forced me to sit. He was much taller than me, and muscular to boot. This close, I could feel his cologne wafting through my nostrils.

“What if your mom comes searching for you and finds me here?” I asked, immediately I took my seat.

“Common, you fear for nothing. I don’t know if that reassures you but I told her I was going to sleep and I didn’t want to be disturbed. You know, as the new alpha she has no choice but to obey my commands,” He said, and we both chuckled. Even though I wasn’t guaranteed, I gave him the benefit of doubt.

“What about Annabelle? You told me she loves coming over.” I asked, my voice cracked and I trailed off.

“I told you to stop bothering yourself.” He replied, walking up to me, he took my hand and kissed the back, “Let’s talk about something else. Let’s talk about us!”

“Huh, is there something in particular you want us to talk about?” I said, pretending not to understand what he wanted from me. The funniest part was that I wanted it too.

Not uttering a word, he leaned further and kissed me on the neck. Next, he sent his hand travelling and caressing my chest. Not sure of what I was doing, but I pushed him back.

With a look of disappointment, he took some distance away from me before saying, “What’s wrong darling? Haven’t I proven to you already how much I love you? Is there something else I need to fulfill before you know I really want you?” He asked with a burning edge.

“I don’t want us to hasten this, Gabriel. I can’t deny that you love me, but I need to find out first if you are my fated mate before we lay down.” Without wanting to hurt him, I spoke out.

He heaved heavily, then took a seat by my side. He placed his hand on my thigh, then proceeded. “I don’t think the moon goddess would allow us to fall deeply in love if we weren’t fated mate. Before sunrise tomorrow, I’m sure the moon goddess will confirm you as my mate.”

He tried to kiss me but I held back, “What if your mother rejects me? I am only an Omega. What if she says I won’t be up to the task?” I asked, again causing a sigh to escape from his lips.

“You are my luna. Once the moon goddess confirms this tomorrow, no one, not even my family nor the pack members, will stop me from building a family with you.” I read all the words from his lips and gulped them.

He was right, not so?

If we were madly in love with each other, that simply meant the moon goddess had paired us together. We kissed and the rest was history…
