A low beeping pulses through the air around me as my body feels as though it is heavy, like a piece of lead against a hard floor. I breathe in and the strong smell of sanitizer and medicine fills my senses. It is so overwhelming that I want to sneeze and protest, but my body has does not respond to the requests of my mind. Why can I not feel my body?
I try to wiggle my toes, but nothing happens.
I try to touch each finger with my thumb, but my hand does not move an inch.
I try to open my mouth and no movement, not even a slight twitch.
