I looked to the door as there was a slight knock. I placed my lips on Tristian’s head, “Mommy got to go help someone then I will be back.” He grunted, “But mom you are going to miss Jake last game until he recover.” I nodded my head as I got up, “I know buddy. I wouldn’t miss the whole game, and this is very important.” He shrugged his shoulders as I walked to the door. I slipped out of the room as Racheal tried to look into the room, “How is he doing, Sage?” I shrugged my shoulders, “He is a strong kid.” She chuckled, “Just like his mommy.” I smiled at her, “Racheal, come with me to the café so we can talk.” She nodded as we walked down to the café. We sat at the table as I looked at her eye and grabbed some ice from the café staff. I handed it to her, “Place it on the eye. It will help take down the swelling. I should know. Patrick hit me enough times I am surprise my eye still works.” She shook her head as she cried, “How did he become like this?” I sat back in my chair, “He has always been like this Racheal. He never changed and he never will until one day MAYBE someone kicks his ass.” She tilted her head to me as I leaned forward, “He beat the s**t out of me for a year then I almost lost Tristian because he did everything in his power to try make me have a miscarriage.” Her eyes widened as I smirked, “I knew my little guy was going to be strong as hell if he could survive what Patrick placed me through. She sighed, “How does someone become like this?” I shrugged my shoulders, “It is no excuse but his father use to beat the s**t out of him and his mother.” I shook my head as I looked up, “I guess it is the cycle that us moms need to try to break so our children doesn’t become like him.” She looked at me as she cried, “I have no place to go.” I reached in my pocket as I still had my key to my old apartment when I handed it to her, “Here, this is the key to my old apartment. I paid a year in advance for it so things like what is going on with Tristian comes up, we have a place over our heads.” She shook her head, “I couldn’t ask you to have me move in with you.” I shook my head, “You misunderstanding what I am saying. I am not asking you to move in with me. The place is empty because Jake moved me into his penthouse so that way, I was safe from a fan of his bullshit.” She tilted her head, “You think I will be safe then.” I nodded to her, “I think so. It is public news that I have moved into Jake’s penthouse and that we are taking this relationship serious.” I leaned to her as I placed my hand on hers, “I will make sure you have everyone’s number.” I shrugged my shoulders, “Besides, you may have a big football player knocking on the door once in a while.” She tilted her head in confusing when I laughed and explained, “Vincent has shown interested in you. He is hoping to make you his touchdown like Jake has done to me.” I took Racheal back upstairs with me to watch the game with the family as I heard Tristian down the hallway, “Come On, Jake throw the ball.” Racheal laughed, “He likes his sports.” I nodded to her, “Just like his mommy.” I opened the door as Tristian, and everyone looked at me. I walked over to Tristian as I introduced Racheal. I looked down at Tristian, “Racheal is having your baby sister or brother.” He looked up at me with his wide blue eyes as he smirked, “Then maybe you and Jake can give me and the new baby another baby sister or brother.” I rolled my eyes, “Slow down buddy. Jake and I are not there yet in our relationship.” He crossed his arm as he looked up at the TV then jumped up, “That it, Dad. Run the ball” My eyes widened as I looked up at Racheal as she smirked at him. Shit did he just called Jake, Dad. I am so screwed. How did we get so close to Jake like this? I looked over to Jake’s parents to see that they both was equally shocked as I was when his mother shrugged her shoulder as she whispered, “Smart kid.” I shook my head as I placed my hands-on Tristian’s hips to make sure he didn’t fall from jumping up and down. It was almost midnight before I got back to the hospital. When I walked in the nurse told me that they decided to delay the surgery until Wednesday to allow my body to relax after working my body hard during the game. I agreed with them as I know that Sage pushed them to do that. I wanted to get it done and over with and Sage wanted me to relax my body after my last game until recovery is over. I walked into the room when I saw Tristian passed out in his bed and Sage on her tablet. I looked over to her and smiled. She tilted her head as I placed my bag done, “So what happened with Racheal?” She sighed, “I allowed her to live at my apartment to have a safe place.” I smiled as I leaned over and gave her a kiss on her forehead, “You are amazing.” She smirked at me. She looked at Tristian as she sighed, “He called you dad.” My eyes widened, “He what?” She looked at my eyes as she searched them, “I know. I was shocked myself. He was watching you play, and he yelled for you to make ‘a run for it dad’.” I sat on the pull-out couch next to her as I sighed, “Wow. Really?” She nodded, “I understand if it is freaking you because it is freaking me out.” I shook my head as I pulled her into me, “No. It not freaking me out. Shocked yes but not freaked.” I laid my lips on the top of her head, “I am more honor that he would think of me like that.” She sighed as she looked up at me, “So, you are okay with it.” I shrugged my shoulders to her, “If you are. I mean he knows that I am not his biological father, but DNA is not what makes someone a father.”   She leaned up to my lips as she brushed against them, “You are amazing.” I chuckled, “No, you are amazing. Amazing woman,  Amazing mom, Amazing friend, and an Amazing Girlfriend.”
