Novel Synopsis
In a mysterious world where humans live alongside demons, zars, Doharnis, Wulajis, Tritos, and other supernatural beings, love, revenge, magic, and destiny become dangerously intertwined. At the center of the story is Henok, a powerful but conflicted man whose life becomes entangled with queens, spirits, forbidden magic, and forces far beyond his understanding.
Henok's journey begins with an inexplicable attraction toward Oksi, the queen of Tritos and the wife of King Tanzan. From the moment he sees her, Henok experiences a strange feeling that he cannot explain. He already loves another woman, yet Oksi's presence begins to occupy his thoughts. Their secret exchanges of smiles gradually create an emotional connection that neither of them fully understands. Henok struggles to convince himself that what he feels is not love, because loving the king's wife would be both dangerous and forbidden.
When Oksi summons Henok to the palace garden, she admits that she has experienced the same mysterious sensation. She feels as though she has known him before, perhaps even as someone close to her in a previous existence. Rather than accepting the strange attraction between them, Henok tries to maintain the distance demanded by their positions. Oksi, however, believes that a witch may be able to explain their inexplicable connection. Their meeting raises one of the novel's central questions: are their feelings the result of ordinary love, destiny, reincarnation, or magic?
At the same time, the kingdom faces a supernatural threat from the Ganelos. Henok joins Menkir and soldiers on a dangerous mission to find one of these creatures. Their journey leads them to a mysterious pool where Henok discovers that certain stones he has collected possess an unexpected connection to the creature beneath the water. The encounter becomes dangerous when a Ganel attacks the soldiers and drags one of them into the water. The experience reveals that the mysterious world surrounding Tritus is far more dangerous than Henok previously understood.
Sami's journey takes him through human settlements, the Spirit World, and the territory of the Wulajis. He encounters Zebib, a mysterious woman who possesses the ability to become invisible. Although Sami initially believes that she may help him find the woman he loves, Zebib deceives him, steals his horse, and disappears. His journey nevertheless brings him closer to the Palace of Tritos and the complicated web of relationships surrounding Henok, Saba, Oksi, and Tanzan.
Saba's story reveals another dimension of the novel. Having experienced death, resurrection, political power, love, betrayal, and life among supernatural beings, she wants her story remembered not simply as the story of a queen but as the story of an ordinary woman with secrets of her own. After Henok and Saba obtain the knife capable of killing zars, they marry and appear to begin a peaceful life. But their happiness does not last. Saba awakens one morning to find the palace destroyed and Tritos apparently abandoned. The bodies of soldiers lie scattered across the land, suggesting that a catastrophic conflict has occurred.
Saba's search for answers leads her into unfamiliar territory where she learns of a war between Tritos and demons. She eventually encounters Zebib and discovers that the supernatural world is far more interconnected than she had imagined.
The danger becomes even greater when Kose's magical flute goes missing. The flute is not merely an ordinary instrument; it is connected to forces capable of affecting the balance of power in the kingdom. Tanzan fears that if it falls into enemy hands, the consequences could be disastrous. Henok and Emu realize that recovering it is essential, while Henok's growing obsession with Oksi continues to complicate his relationship with the people closest to him.
Behind the political and supernatural conflicts lies an even deeper struggle involving zars. Oksi becomes connected to a zar named Betty, whose presence changes the relationships around her. As the characters attempt to understand what has happened, they discover that removing a zar from a human body requires either powerful magic or a special knife capable of killing zars. That knife is associated with a demon-human hybrid named Zebib and is hidden within the mysterious Spirit World.
The search for the knife becomes one of the novel's major quests. The story expands beyond the kingdom of Tritos and introduces the strange societies that inhabit the wider supernatural world. Among them are the Doharnis, creatures whose lives revolve around water and whose physical abilities make them formidable enemies. Sami, a Doharni, becomes particularly important when he falls in love with a beautiful woman from another world. His love causes him to turn against his own people and begin a dangerous journey toward the Palace of Tritos.
