Chapter 10: Willing to Love

~Ruby's P.O. V~

        Drac had started teaching me to use my abilities, the first to show itself happened today, we were meditating on the boulders near the ocean, all I could hear was the crashing waves against each other. The sound was soothing and peaceful, they started to get quieter as time went on, until I could no longer hear them. When I opened my eyes, I was floating above the ground in a bubble of air, as I looked around, I noticed I was far from the ground. Drac was trying to yell at me, I just couldn't hear him. An image of someone popped into my head, making me falter in my bubble of peace. I started to fall, of course, I screamed as I fell, but thanks to Drac, he caught me in time. Now I am sitting in my room. Who was that someone? He had black hair, one blue eye and one dark eye, he was pale skinned and muscular. Just that one flash was able to almost kill me. 

Knock, knock, knock "Come in." I called out.

"Ru? Are you okay?" Luna Mabel came in. "Dracula just told us. Your first power being wind nature? And what happened? He said you fell." 

"Yeah. I didn't even notice I was in a bubble until I opened my eyes. But, I got a flash of a man with 2 different eyes. They were so intense, it scared me." Luna Mabel and I started to become friends. I always kept myself distant in fear of hurting them.

"Oh, dear. How are you feeling after that?" She sat next to me.

"Honestly? I'm scared. I feel a pull to Chess and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Then, I'm told a royal Unicorn wants me for my powers and now an image of someone I have never met suddenly comes into my mind? Mabel, I'm terrified." She took my hand in hers.

"I don't know about that guy or this royalty, but I can tell you something. That pull? What if he feels it too?" She winked at me.

"... Wait, wouldn't that mean that I am his mate?" That is Ludacris. A unicorn and a Werewolf, mates? No. "No, that's preposterous. Your Goddess only gives you a Werewolf mate, has she ever mated your people with other Mythlike before?" 

"She has. Me and Max." She smiled.

"You're not a Werewolf?" This was unheard of. Even for us.

"I was a human. I didn't know anything about Mythic kind when I met him. We dated first, when he told me that he was a Werewolf, I couldn't help but laugh. No man had said those lines to me and I first thought it was a pick up line. Then, we went to the woods outside my home where he shifted in front of me. I guess I should have been scared, but I wasn't. I saw this giant puppy laying on his side in submission and growling playfully while burring his muzzle in the dirt. I just ended up laughing more. Of course, like every couple, we had our ups and downs. One of those downs was a she-wolf, well, this she-wolf tried to come between me and Max. He killed her before she could lay a finger on me. It was after that incident that I told him that I wanted to be a wolf, he greatly obliged. Now, we're the Alpha and Luna to one of the strongest packs there in the North West." She took a deep breath in and smiled at me, "All I am saying is, love can come from anywhere, Ru. Even if you don't think you're worthy of it." She gave me a hug before leaving me to dwell on her story.

~Luna Mabel's P.O. V~

        Ruby is conflicted in what she feels, I was honestly at first conflicted on how I felt with Max, so I understand her point of view very well. I want to help her love again, our Beta deserves his happiness too. I went to go find Max. He was sparring with Chess and Drac. I stood next to one of tress as I watched them. I loved seeing my husband shirtless and brawling, he was super sexy covered in sweat. I cleared my throat.

"Honey. Can the 3 of us talk? It's about Ru." I was concerned for my friend.

"What's up, my love?" He stopped the match.

"She told me what happened. An image of a man entered her thoughts. A man with two different colored eyes. She's scared out f her mind, babe. Even more so when it comes to love. When I talked to her, the very idea of loving someone scares her." I couldn't hide anything from him or my Beta. 

"It's not surprising. Unicorns were once hunted down to almost extinction because they loved others of Mythic kind." Dracula came up and put on his ugly ass shirt. Seriously. Why do men have those ugly beach shirts?

"Really? That's so sad." I felt guilty for mentioning it.

"Not only that, she lost her family at a young age and has been alone since. Hearing she has two people who want to love her, might also be another wall she put up." Max knew everything when it came to the world of Myths. Because of his Alpha status, he was privy to info I am not.

"I want to help her, honey. She deserves love. And from who better than her mate." I said looking over to Chess.

"Easy, there. Luna Mabel. I want to take it slowly with her." He look devastated.

"Max, please? Talk to her? Maybe seeing this from a mans perspective, a mate at that, she can open up again?" I pleaded with my eyes. Making them grow as big as ever.

"Alright, my sweet. I will talk to her tonight. But, I cannot promise if I will have any effect on her." He leaned in and kissed my forehead. Phew, he was sexy when I was looking at him, but being up close? He stunk.

"First, go take a shower." I tapped his arm we both laughed a little. I hoped that when he talks to her, she'll understand and give Chess a chance. I however, had some digging to do. Who was the man with 2 colored eyes?

~Unknowns P.O. V~

        Thanks to Vivian, my love now knows what I I look like. She was only to get the image through the barriers thanks to one very powerful spell. Sadly, it was just a one time deal, otherwise, I would have kept sending more of me into my beloveds thoughts. Ruby Nicholson, another part of information I had gathered. I was sitting in my office when I heard a knock.

"Come in!" I yelled. The fire from my fireplace flickered and burned brightly. 

"My lord. I have brought Alpha Clarissa and Alpha Sabrina as you commanded." I turned around to see him with 2 women by his side.

"What is this about?!" Alpha Clarissa yelled. At me.

"Hold your tongue, traitor! I heard about how you and the Vampires conspired to take over my throne in Russia! You will sit your ass down and listen carefully, snake!" She backed down and sat.

"You're Highness, why am I in your magnificent presence?" Sabrina at least had manners. And she was quite the looker too. Sadly, not for me.

"Take a seat." I calmly told her. She did and I dismissed my butler. "You are hear to tell me about my love. Clarissa, you first." I paused, "Oh, I should mention, that if I don't like your answers, either of you. I will kill you here and now." They both breathed in and stood straight. "Clarissa, why did you banish Ruby?" Her eyes went wide.

"Because, she was the spawn of Satan. That marking could only mean she is a vessel to him! I should have killed her too." Before she continued, I went up to her and back handed her face. Her surprise yelp made me laugh on the inside.

"If you had, I would have eliminated your herd for your crime." She slunk back. "Why did you kill her parents? And don't give me that 'They were traitors' Because, we both know that's a lie."

"I-I um..." I waited for her answer, "I used them as distractions." She killed My father's fist love, I both thank her and I want to destroy her. 

"For your own traitorous acts. Yes. Last question; Who promised you power?"

Her face went white as I asked that. "V-Vladimir." I stood straight up and looked at her with disgust. Snapping my fingers, I called my axe. 

"Clarissa, you have a choice here. Be imprisoned for your deeds. Or I take your head here. Your status of Alpha will be handed down to one of my choosing, either way." 

"I will accept imprisonment, my lord." Again I snapped my fingers, two of my guards came in and escorted her to the cells. I looked a Sabrina.

"You are a different matter, Sabrina. I know you conspired with her, but I am willing to let that slide if you do something for me in return." She frantically nodded and smiled.
