Chapter 9: The WHAT?!

2040 Words
~Alpha Max's P.O. V~ "I'm sorry... You want her WHAT?!" I didn't mean to shout as much as I did, but asking a Unicorn for her blood is a death sentence. Anyone, magical or not, even draws her blood releases a toxin that can and will be deadly for anyone who smells it.  "Oh, just a taste. If I lick her blood, then she is free to come and go, only her however." "That will kill us all!" My Luna shouted.  "Says who?" Miss. Ruby asked the group. "Your Alpha Mare." It is what she told us at the Alpha meetings. "That is silly and so untrue. I have had my blood drawn before and no one has died." She rolled her eyes as she was stifling a laugh. "She tricked you all into not laying a finger on her!" I saw her double over laughing. Straight up laughing. "Here. If it'll make you feel any better. Dracula? A drop, you understand? No more." "Yeah, sure, fine." He took out a pocket knife and poked her finger. We all took several steps back as we see the drop land in his palm. He licked it off and what happened next surprised all of us. His eyes became white and his hair started to flutter around as if he had a magical wind around him. "Miss. Ruby? Do you know you have two suitors who seek your devotion to them?" "I knew of one but who is the other?" She asked, how was she not freaking out? She stood there, calm as a sunny cloudless day. "One is on an paradise island, the other is in a far off castle near the Alpine Mountains." He said to her. "One loves you in a way you could never imagine, the other wants you for your gifts." "My gifts? Being an outcast and burdened by this red gem on my ass?" I couldn't help it, I blushed a little when she said that. It earned me a smack from my wife. "There is much you still don't know about yourself, dear. I can only tell that the second suitor is-" ~Unknown P.O. V~ Shit. She made it passed his barriers. f*****g Dracula, him being alive is an inconvenience for me. What good is having a spy if they can't get passed his wall of magic? "What am I to do?" I finally was able to get a shot of her in her human form. Indeed I was right, she grew to the most beautiful creature in existence. "Lance!" I called for my most trusted ally.  "Yes, your lordship?" He quickly came in. "Lance, I have a mission for you. I need you to track down Alpha Clarissa and Alpha Sabrina. I need to have a chat with them." He bowed and left my office. I needed to know more on my lovely soon to be wife. What she likes, what she hates and whom she's been with over these passed 2 decades. If I find out any man has laid his hands on her, they will be killed. My white haired gemstone, I will get you home. This is a promise.         I left my sanctuary, my castle was in the middle of a cold land so, being white and black helps me hide from humans. They would have called me a Gypsy Vanner had they seen my unicorn form. Sure, they were gorgeous horses, but still nothing compared to my Ruby. I got out of my robes and shifted, I needed a run to clear my head. The snow felt great against my coat, the wind flowing through my mane as I gather more magic into my catalyst. Who could ever live like a human for 18 years? I haven't got a clue how she did it. I'll ask her when I get her to my side.  As I was running, I ran into my general, he bowed to me, "My lord." These knight types were so annoying. But, they keep me safe, so whatever. I shifted back and stared at him. "Yes? Is there something I can do for you General?" "We spotted an unknown within our boarder. She demanded to see you." Right on que, a woman in a rather odd looking dress came forward. She looked young, maybe in her early 20's, red hair, golden brown eyes and pale skin. "Speak, woman." She was unfazed that I was standing there naked. "Your highness. Let's cut the chase. I'm a witch. A prophetess actually and I need to see that scroll. It contains information that needs be rewritten after what I saw." My eyes went wide, no one else but my family knew about this. "How the hell do you know about that?!" A smile spread on her face. "That's easy. I wrote it." I was dumbfounded. This woman was centuries years old. "You see, I gave it to your father as a gift for saving my life. He wanted to know if there were any powerful beings to be born. He said beings, not just Unicorns. I was hoping to lock on to a Werewolf, a Shape Shifter, anything else really, but my heart went aflutter when I found out about a certain creature." I had to stop her before she leaked too much in front of my General. I grabbed her hand and led to to my castle. The guards gave me my robes as I escorted her to my office. "Vivian Grey, I do believe is what your name is." She nodded. "Only my family knows about that scroll. Speaking about it in front of my general was a no, no." "Very well. When I made that scroll, I was new at becoming a Prophetess, details were missed. I need to rewrite some of them." I nodded to her and rummaged through my office library. I didn't want to say no to one of the most powerful beings out there. Unicorn or not, we are not immortal, we just can't die naturally. Once I found the thing, I handed it to her. She opened it and waved her hand. I saw letters being added, taken out and moved around. Then she handed it back to me, "Please read this out loud. It will complete." it." "It shall be on the day that summer ends, an embarrassing defeat shall bring an age of magic. Upon the day fire burns blue, a mare of white baring the mark of a red birthstone shall usher forth the rise of a new good. It shall be then, when the forest grows, an acceptance shall bring forth the rejuvenation of a culture and an age of inhumanity. It shall be on the day that the true one reveals herself, an overheard conversation shall cause a blessed age and depravity." It is so written that she shall accept me. I smiled knowing that she will be mine. No other creature on this world shall have what is foretold to be mine and mine alone. An embarrassing defeat does have me wondering on whom I shall be defeating for my brides hand. "This only confirms what is supposed to be mine." I held that scroll next to my heart. She was always meant to be mine. ~Chester's P.O. V~ So, that is who is after my lady, I knew he was rich, but to say that he is a royal? I didn't even know Unicorns had royalty among them. It's too bad he'll have to die, he won't lay a finger on her.  (So, we can claim her now?)         No. She is safe here. Unless he has a way of getting here, she will always be safe. (You're such a c**k block! I want my mate!)         I know, I know. Soon, okay? We need to make sure she isn't found by Evans or this prince guy. (Fine. Make it quick. I want her to feel safe too.) "Ruby?" I pulled her away from Dracula and into my arms. "I swear I will kill them both. You can live happily again without looking over your shoulder." I felt her shoulders relax some, then she hugged me back. "I don't know what it is about you, I just have this feeling that you're right." I smiled at that, so she truly does feel something. I will make sure to keep her happy, no matter what.  "We will be spending a month here. I heard you have powers unlike any magical being." Alpha Max chimed in. Romantic feeling? What was that? He always butted in when I didn't want him to. "So will I. The pack is getting their Gamma's home, they should be able to take care of everything." My Luna too?! With the good feeling gone, I released Ruby, it hurt my soul to do that. "If you insist on staying at my island then as a host I have to accommodate you all." He looked defeated and tired. I guess getting what he wanted drained the man. Good. Then, he can't fight the issue on us staying. He led us up a dirt pathway, the twists and turns of the trees were amazing and I could feel my wolf itching to get out and run.          It took us 2 hours to get to the top of the island, the top held a giant castle. It was old, anyone could tell from a glance, but it didn't look decaying old. More like a scene from an old Medieval painting old. The vines covered it to have a natural beauty while the stone was grey, it was easily the cleanest part of the outside. The front doors were made of dark oak and they were huge. He had a mote to go with it! Instead of dangerous crocs or mean spirited barracudas, he had all kinds of salt water fish, none of them dangerous. It was like going to an aquarium, when we finally got inside, my jaw dropped. The whole inside was made of gold. The red carpet kept it from getting dirty, but it was simply magnificent. He stopped at a door first and opened it. I looked inside. There were two large beds with very fine fabrics on it. All in the color red. "Ladies. This will be your room whilst you are here." Drac bowed and escorted them in. They were giggling like school girls on a Sunday. Seeing her laugh, though, made me happy. "There are clean dresses in the closet. Yes, before you ask, they are from my time." I saw them zoom to the closet immediately. "Gentlemen, follow me." We followed Drac to another room on the opposite wing from theirs. He opened the door. "This will be your two room. Same as before. Fresh clothes, yadeyadeyada. Oh, before you go in, Chess, may I have a word?" I nodded and he lead us into the hallway again. "Does she know?" "Of course, not. The idea of it should be revolting. A Werewolf with a Unicorn? I am crazy about her. But, she doesn't even know what she feels. I can't just tell her. Not yet." He nodded and patted my shoulder. "This is why I left the women back in the mortal world." With that, he left me to ponder. Should I tell her? No, it's still too soon. She's only known me for a week, normally when we sense ones mate, Werewolves take no time in marking one another, but with her, I have to take it slowly. Going too fast, I worry she will recede herself from trusting ever again. I return to mine and my Alpha's room. I found him pacing the floor. "You're digging a hole." He snapped his head to me. "I can't help it. This is how I always am when I'm not with her." He plopped himself on a bed. "I feel ya. I want to hold her, be there for her and make her happy." Ruby is my world now. "And yet, she doesn't know." I shook my head. "We should let out our wolves before getting food. Come on. You can mind link me everything you have done these past few months." Oh, goodie... Report time. Always fun with him.
