On the downside, I had a couple of large groups and their kids were all terrors. It became so hectic that at one point, I crashed into another waitress. “I’m sorry,” we both cried in unison, getting back up. Although my knees and pride hurt from the fall, all I could do was laugh to keep from crying. Fortunately, neither of us had full trays, so it wasn’t a huge deal. But embarrassing as all hell. “Oh, I forgot to tell you, there are a couple of girls sitting in my section who asked for you. They tried getting seated in yours but there wasn’t any room,” Maggie, the other waitress said. “You can still serve them if you want.” “Are you sure?”
