20 Chase After inspecting each other’s engines, Gus and I were set to go. Tyler, Mitch, and Sonny had taken off to meet us at the finish, while Jason and Bruce were still parked on the side of the road, preparing to follow us down. The rules were simple: Bruce was going to honk three times and then we’d take off. We waited for the signal, and as soon as Bruce let out the last honk, I slipped the car into gear and gunned it.
