chapter 1:
The morning sun cut through the my window as I wince as the glaring beam jolted me out of my sleep. He settled into the bed for a while before forcing myself to move.
The mansion was silent like it always was, cold and unforgiving even when littered with staff. I made my way to my husband’s room there he was Sebastian Vale with all his glory, as the maid's hands wrapped around him trying to get him ready his hands clunged to a cup of tea as he looked over the mansion window. I turned to the bed and there was an half naked woman in a red lingerie, smirking like she was recalling what has happened last night. Even if it was a marriage of convenience it would be basic decency for Sebastian to take his love interest out of the mansion.
“Are we having breakfast together today “ I said as my voice crossed the room, “nope going to be late if I did” “as always “ I said as my eyes rolled and I quickly exited the room. Made my way to the dinning table, food was already made settled into the chair as I started breakfast all a long. The chairs counted 14 but it's been occupied by one for as long as I can remember.
My husband came passed the dinning table when he was done he didn't even spare a glance at me and said “one of my ranch would be having a horse riding competition, be sure to come” he said his Austin accent bleed through every word, “and oh, wear something eye catching I want all the politicians that would attend heads to turn” he said with a disgusting grim on his face like there wasn't a foreign woman in his bed upstairs.
The morning settles into a full afternoon, still at home still bored with nothing else to do, the sound of the humming bird kept me company until they didn't. I switched on the tv to avoid the loneliness, The channel was babbling on about a ranch showcase, that was when it dawned on me. “The ranch showcase” I said as I rested my hands on my chest “ how could I forget that” I said, hauled myself forward in but excitement and a bit more. At least I get to leave the mansion and actually experience something nice, who knows I might have fun. All the thoughts make my cheek turn bright red. I called out to one of the staff as I trailed through an array of clothes. I had everything in my walk-in wardrobe, designer clothes from Armani to Tiffany’s, I guess being a billionaire trophy wife has it's perks. I finally settled my hands on a two piece blouse and a bum short. With a brown knee high boot. I peeled my way to the car already waiting was the driver and the my bodyguard.
Slowly the ranch came into focus, it had a distinctive smell of fresh hay, and a southern breeze swept through the sandy terrain.
There was already teams of camera crew I was still early not much notable people has arrived I knew because there weren't any luxurious car lined up on the curb. I made my way down, the camera lights cut me unaware, and endless stream of lights bathed me whole. Statements was said but I couldn't see past the light flickering on… “it's the wife of Sebastian Vale, aria Vale” one of the photographers remarked, my body guard gave the paparazzi a solid urge to let me be, I peeled away from the commotion as I made my way to the horse stables.
It was so calm there, the horse moving in rhythmic pace as their long hair swayed in the breeze.
There it was a loud neigh cut through the scene, one of the horses has gone rogue it got unhooked from the saddle and panicked creating dust from his feet smashing against the hard dirt.
That was when I saw a breathtaking man, his half on jacket and boot, his dark moist hair clung to his forehead, his sunburned skin glistening in the sun. He held the saddle in one hand and with the other held onto the snapped rope… “settle down girl” he said so calmly like the horse didn't weigh anything, as those words came from his mouth chills came down my spine I didn't know what it was but I've never felt like that before. He slowly put the saddle on the horses back and tamed it without the situation escalating further, that was the hottest thing I've ever seen.
“Ma’am” he said as he tug on his hat as he bends his head slightly towards me. I let out an involuntary giggle, I was flushed and didn't want to loose my composure around him or anyone else, I peeled away from the stable. But I could feel it his eyes pinned on me as his cowboy stare caresses my behind and engulfed me. I liked it, unsure if I should explore this feeling or not.
