“I’m not selling this jar to you,” Liam said firmly. “You can’t just come up here and decide that you want it. It’s been there for days, to my understanding. You could have had it if you wanted. Why didn’t you?” The old man smiled. His smile was as bright as his eyes, like a cool tempered businessman. He looked too polished to be in the midst of riffraff. “Funny, I didn’t see the value in it until you wanted it.” He stepped towards Liam, closing up the space between them. “I’ve never seen anyone want something so desperately as you did back there. I want to see what you see in that jar.” “I see nothing special in it. Now leave me alone.” “Ah, that is what people who see something special always say. Come on, just sell it to me.” Liam tried cornering him but the man matched his steps.
