Sana ended her first night in Jeju with a smile and woke up still plastered on her face, knowing the fact that she can go wherever she wants to. But, as obvious as it is, she didn't have any itinerary. No plans or whatsoever on what she would do today nor for the next days. Well, she believes that an adventure with no destination at all is the best. And so Sana went for a drive with her mineral white metallic 2021 BMW Z4 M40i convertible car. As fancy as it sounds, it really is expensively priced at $63,700, but that sort of amount of money is nothing to what Sana manages.
As Sana speeds up to 60 mph, the wind ran through her silky smooth medium ash brown hair. As safely as she could drive, she finally came to a halt in someplace nobody knew existed because there were no signs of people aside from her. It was a beach. It was nostalgically beautiful. Sana felt like she has been here before, but of course, she's never been there because it was her first time to travel around Jeju—she thought.
It has a majestic deep blue ocean, white foam appearing as the calm waves crashing against the shore. Its golden sand was soft as Sana's barefooted feet walked along with it. The waters shimmered from the sunlight making the sand sparkle like a thousand tiny jewels. Wind blowing lightly as the seagulls screeched from a distance. Sana had never felt so at peace as before. Now and then, a refreshing breeze would swirl around her sending her hair in all different directions. And, for the very first time, she fell in love with life.
The feels—the emotions she got at that very moment, welled up tears in her eyes. She left out a chuckle for herself and thought how pitiful she was for being overwhelmed by just the sight of a beach.
"Uhhh..." someone suddenly uttered, which surprised Sana and immediately wiped her tears. Her face turned red, and she avoided eye contact as she looked from all different directions, "I-I'm not crying," reasoned Sana.
"Really? Because I was here long enough to witness everything," softly spoken by the petite pale woman in white dress. The calming-sweet voice made Sana gaze at her, and in awe, there beheld the figure of a person similar in her dreams. She got captivated, a jittery feeling in her belly, and a flutter of electricity ran through her body. She wished it wasn't a dream anymore, but maybe if it were, she hoped never to wake up. Sana was ready to put everything on the line to be with the person in front of her, who showed the most graceful smile she has ever seen. "Hello?" the woman waved her hand in front of Sana's stunned face, who was speechless from the sight of the person who suddenly appeared.
Finally, Sana straightened herself and said, "I'm dreaming, right?" The woman's brows pulled together in a frown out of confusion from her unexpected question and tried to suppress her giggling but ended up bursting into laughter. Sana thought her laugh was so light and laced with a hum of amusement at the matter. Her face lit up like neon signs as her eyes crinkle at the corners at the same time. The woman's laugh was a beautiful thing in Sana's ears. Its laughter was full of warmth and life, just like the rest of her—sweet and genuine. It was addictive and kept on playing Sana's head like a broken record.
"I guess I really am dreaming," Sana said in defeat. Everything was just too good to be true—she thought.
The woman eventually got her composure back from laughing. "What makes you think you're dreaming?" she said.
"I mean, you just showed up out of nowhere. I didn't even notice your presence not until you made a sound. And, no one was here when I arrived," Sana explained her side of the story.
"Whatever you say, you're not dreaming," the girl assured. "I am real," she presented herself, "and you are real," she continued and gave her a reassuring smile. And by just that smile, Sana believed her as if everything she says is full of honesty and assurance. So even if the girl would lie, Sana would still believe it.
"I guess this is really not a dream." Sana scratched the back of her head and made an awkward chuckle out of embarrassment. Now that she was sure that it wasn't a dream, the embarrassment hit her even harder as she remembered that the pale girl saw her crying. And once again, her face flushed red from the realization of reality. At that very moment, she felt like wanting to turn invisible and sneak out of that place.
The woman noticed Sana's red face and started to worry about her well-being, and so she asked, "Are you okay? Why are you so red?" She laid her hand on Sana's left cheek to check her temperature, but the woman's gesture only made it worse as the touch made Sana's face hotter, and her heart palpitated faster. "You're sick!" yelled out the girl and grabbed Sana's hand without any hesitation. Sana remained silent as the woman dragged her, but it didn't bother her at all. All she could think was the hand of the girl holding hers. She couldn't help but smile and held the girl's hand tighter as if not wanting to let go. She thought how much her hand fit hers as if God had designed every muscle and ligament only to be fitting for each other.
"Were you even listening to me?" The woman complained and halted from walking to look back at Sana, who was grinning. It turns out she has been blabbering about how stupid Sana was for going out when she's sick and should have stayed at home to rest. However, Sana wasn't listening because her thoughts went blank, and her ears stopped working the moment the woman held her hand. "You're really weird," said the girl, who is by now weirded out by Sana's unusual behavior.
After a couple of minutes of walking from the beach, the two of them arrived at a humble home. They were welcomed by a dog who came running happily as it wagged its tail and jumped in the woman's arm. "Ari~," said the girl who dropped down to pet Ari who was l*****g the woman's face out of happiness of seeing his owner. Sana, who happily watched the two, couldn't help take a picture of this lovely moment. It warmed her heart to see how contented the girl was with her simple life, but, of course, Sana wanted to live a simple life, too. That's all she ever dreamed of the entire time—a happy and simple life. She hoped to be part of their life.
