Eyes on Me Alpha

'So pretty!' I giggle while staring myself from the full-length mirror. I'm wearing a strapless sweetheart dress, it has a slit on the side, colored in bright blue sapphire, which highlighted my deep aquatic blue eyes. It's hugging my body pretty well. My blonde hair is in a messy bun and I put a light make-up to compliment my dress. After a while I heard my mom knocked at my door and said, "Aqua, are you done? Goldy's already here." With a smile plaster on my face, I opened the door and was greeted with my mom's smiling face and my best friend's beaming face. "Enjoy your day girls, may the Moon Goddess bless you both with a good mate." Goldy and I giggle with my mom's farewell word before going out for the ball. "Thank you, Mom. I'll see you later." I kissed her cheeks and so Goldy did too. My mom is the only family I had, my father died when I was still a pup. He's the former beta of the pack, and he died during the great war. My mom may be happy but I know she misses my father so much, that she would cry at night when the lights are already off. Although I aspire to be like my dad, the position of the next beta is already determined. It pissed me real good, but the power struggle is really hard when you are a girl. She-wolves are only Omega, Warrior, or Luna material. Such an unfair treatment and yet our God is a female. How ridiculous is that? When we arrive to the venue, most of the male wolves are openly staring at us. With a proud smile, I walk graciously to the room with Goldy on my side, and we sashay our way to our intended seats. The event went smoothly, after the Alpha and Luna made their opening remarks, they gave the time for us to mingle with our pears. We are gonna turn 18 tonight, and our first shift will gonna be held later in the forest at the back of our pack house. Along with our first shift, is we are also gonna be able to recognize our mate. Well, that is if our mate also belongs to our pack. "Babe do you think I'll gonna find my mate tonight?" Goldy anxiously asked. "Silly, of course... that will depends to our Goddess." I cheekily said, to lighten her mood. She pouted to my response but her eyes are still smiling. "I hate you," she jokingly said. "My bad, Miss Goldy." I responded chuckling, and we both giggled. "Excuse me, Miss, can I have a dance with you." We are having our moment when a guy interrupt us. He's asking me with a boyish grin. Goodlooking, and tall, not bad at all. But he's not also familiar with me. And, there is only one guy I wanna dance tonight, which of course, I won't be able too. I was about to reject him when my bestfriend nudge me and said, "Of course she will." I was taken aback with what I heard and look at her with a questioning look. "C'mon, Babe, just for tonight. I'll go dancing too." she said winking. I mouthed, 'Fine.' to her and gave a small smile to the guy. I can't dance with my prince tonight, anyway. Might as well, give others a chance. We went to the dance floor and joined everyone. The guy is a chatty one though, not my type, but he's a bestfriend material. I danced with few guys too, before settling down again, and took the rest of the time to rest. When the clock hits quarter to 12, we all went to the back part of the pack house, and excitedly waited for our first shift. Later on I heard cracking of bones, the wails of pain, afterwards the howling of the wolves. They run to the forest until I can see them no more. I am watching them grinning while waiting for my turn, but my lips slowly lost its smile when everyone's already gone and I'm the only one left with some pack warriors on the side watching. I'm in some kind of panic. 30 minutes had already gone by and I'm still here waiting for something to happen. While the time keeps ticking, I'm also losing my hope. Blankly staring at the moonlight illuminated woods, I heard someone growl at my right side and said, "Mate." The moment I heard his voice, I burst into tears and I looked at him with tears streaming down my cheeks. The man I am madly in love with is here, he said I am his mate and yet I cannot feel the mate bond. He stagger when I gaze into him. He looked like he didn't expect this, rather he didn't expect his mate to be me, and the worst of it all I wasn't able to shift. He composes himself quickly though, with silver piercing cold eyes he walks closer to me. "Why are you still here, Aqua?" He's eyeing me. I can already feel the rejection coming through. Of course, the future Luna can't be a wolfless woman, that will put our pack at a disadvantage. Crying, I kneeled trying to beg for mercy. I know I have been so annoying to him, he obviously hates me. Well, he always made me feel that, but I can't let him go. I really love him, that is maddening. "I—I wasn't able to shift, but please don't reject me, Silver. Please!" with pleading eyes, I looked at up him. His eyes are glowing when I looked up, his wolf is trying to the come to the surface, but with just a blink, I lost all my hope. Those cruel eyes, will forever gonna hunt me. "Don't make it hard for the both of us, Aqua. You know what you should do, and that is to accept the rejection." "I Silver Hollow the future Alpha of the Blue Crescent Moon, reject Aqua Oceana Fritz to be my mate." With the strength I could muster, I smiled at him with a sad eyes. This hurts so much, it feels like a thousand needles are piercing my heart at the same time. I wanted to go hysterical, but that won't help me. "You really are cruel." "I Aqua Oceana Fritz accept the rejection of Silver Hollow, future Alpha of the Blue Crescent Moon." The good thing about not being able to shift, is I won't be able the pain of the rejection of my mate, but it still hurts because I have been wanting him for so long. I looked down as a sign of defeat when he turned his back on me and starts walking away. This marks the worst day of my life, and I guess I won't be able to rise from this shameful day for a long time.
