Chapter 1.14

Kathleen Remes’ POV If I don’t know any better, last night was the best night of my life. With his skills of having so many women and his notorious way of making me beg for him, I can tell that he had the skills that I craved and lacked. I even begged him to give me more! I turned around as the sunlight hit my face. I slowly opened my eyes when I was hit by the sunlight. I moved to look at the person that had shared my bed last night. He was not there. Now, where could he be? I stood up from the bed and there was no trace of him. I let the duvet that covered my chest fall onto the bed. I looked around, the clothes that we shed were gone, the warmth of his side was fading. He must be gone for hours now. I sighed. Maybe I won’t think this through. “Morning, I thought you hadn’t woken up just yet,” Kai’s voice filled in the suite as he opened the door. I turned to look at him as he was casually dressed and there was some food in his hands. He was smiling before he came to my side of the bed and kissed me good morning on the lips. “Did you sleep well?” He asked as he was smirking at me. I glared at him before he directed his eyes toward my breasts that were showing in their full pride. “I don’t know, I haven’t had the decency to ask myself that,” I said before I took the breakfast from his hand. He laughed before I opened it and it was some croissant and sandwiches. “I don’t know what you like so I just bought some of that,” he said as he looked at me. I glanced at him before I smiled. “It’s fine, I can eat this,” I said before I took a croissant and put it in my mouth. It was a chocolate croissant as the chocolate melted inside my mouth. “Hmm,” I moaned as I was famished from all the activities that we had done last night. I looked at Kai who was gulping when I moaned at the last of the food. I was licking my fingers again when the chocolate melted on my fingers. I could see his Adam’s apple was going up and down. “What are you thinking, Mr. Virtanen?” I said seductively as I put the food away. His breaths were mingled with mine when I was caressing his stubble. “I was thinking that I might have some dessert now,” he whispered, which made me look into his eyes. They were dark with desire. “Then,” I whispered in his ear, “shall we indulge in it?” I whispered before I bit his ear. Suddenly, all the insanity went out of the window when he pushed me on the bed and we indulged in our dessert. ***** I was admiring the sapphire ring that Kai gave to me as the engagement ring and the wedding band. After hours and hours of spending time inside the hotel, I think it was a good time to stroll by the beach. It was noon, so not many people would be there. Plus, we would get some lunch as well. “Ready?” Kai asked as he just came out of the bathroom with his white shirt and black denim. I have never seen him in this setting as he always has the suit whenever he visits me on the estate. “Yes, let’s go,” I said as I took my hat. I was wearing a maroon dress with a beige hat to match. He opened the door for me and I nodded at him. “Why, thank you, my fair gentleman,” I said as I went to take his hand after he locked the door. “Anything for my beloved lady,” he said as he kissed my knuckles and we went out of the hotel to go to the nearest beach. It was high noon when people were eating lunches at the local restaurants. I don’t think people would mind if we ever wanted to get some lunch as well. “What do you want to eat?” Kai asked me as I was looking at the restaurants. I thought very hard about what I wanted to eat today. “Maybe Italian?” I said as I looked at him. He nodded before we went to walk a few blocks away from where we were just now. “Where are we going?” I asked him as he just pulled me to go in his direction. He looked at me before smiling. “You’ll see,” he said as he went inside the restaurant. I was not familiar with Greece so I just had to believe my husband then. “Table for 2?” The host asked. Kai replied to him before he showed us to the table. I was being seated as we had the table closed to the sea. “Isn’t it beautiful?” I asked as I looked at the sea. “Yes, indeed,” he replied before I looked at him. He was staring at me so I knew what he meant by that. “Stop it,” I said, smiling before Kai placed our order and the waiter was getting our drinks ready. He popped the champagne and we indulged in it before our food came. We ate silently as I didn’t know what to talk about or, he liked to talk when we had food in front of us. “So,” Kai said as he was looking at me. I dabbed my mouth with the napkin as I looked at him, waiting for his question. He also dabbed his mouth before he spoke to me. “I’ve noticed that you don’t exactly like what your dossier told me about you,” he said as he took a sip of his champagne. I smiled before I closed my eyes. “And you don’t suit your own,” I replied as I looked at him. He laughed. “Well, I think that’s because—“ “Because not everything that you read will be the result of the person. So, tell me, Kai, if you’re about to do a business deal, do you believe in rumors or the person that you have met beforehand? Which one would you choose?” I asked him as I looked at him. He was stammering as I took a sip of my champagne. “I thought so. So if there is anything that you want to know about me,” I said as I took his hand into mine. I looked into his eyes and smiled sweetly. “You only have to ask. Besides, we’ll be staying together now. It will affect us all if we don’t trust each other,” I said before the waiter came and asked us for dessert. Before Kai could reply, I asked for some ice cream sundae. Kai looked at me before laughing. “What? I’m hungry alright. You made me burn all the fat last night and this morning,” I said as I winked at him. He took my hands and brought his hand to his mouth to kiss my knuckles. “And no doubt, I will make you burn it tonight as well,” he said as the waiter brought our dessert and we were enjoying it as we laughed and felt comfortable with each other’s company. It was almost evening when we finished eating our lunch, almost 4 PM. We went by sea as we were strolling for fresh air as the breezes were coming to hit us with its warmth. I don’t think that Finland will have such things. How I will miss this weather. “So, do you have anything that you cannot tell from reading about me?” Kai asked as I was looking at him while I pushed my hair strands out of my face. I laughed as I looked at him. “I don’t know. My speculation that you had lovers before was right, since you know how to please a lady,” I said as I got out of his hands. “Oh no, you did not,” he said before I ran and he was after me. I ran out of his arms before he caught me and pushed me onto the sand. People were oblivious as they just minded their own business. I was laughing as Kai was smiling at me. He then bent his head to kiss me and I responded eagerly. He looked at me before I licked my lips in the aftermath. “Shall we go back to the hotel, my love? I don’t think I like how the men were staring at you,” Kai said as he looked around and yes, some of the men were staring at me and him. “Oh, don’t tell me the notorious playboy Kai Virtanen was jealous? I thought you were confident that I would never leave you,” I said as I was challenging him. “And I will make your stay with all my might, Kathleen Aurora Remes,” he said as he pulled me up and kissed me under the sunset that was sitting by the horizon. I smiled at that kiss and didn’t want this moment to end or someone to steal Kai away from me. He broke the kiss before he caressed my cheeks. “Now, about that offer,” he said as he wriggled his eyebrows. I laughed at him. “You’re insatiable,” I said as I pulled his head closer to mine, which our foreheads were touching. “And you only have my eyes forever,” he said as he kissed me again before he took my hand and we walked hand-in-hand toward the hotel as if the nightmare was coming to scare me for tomorrow.
