MCLAIN HOUSE On the long drive back to Phoenix, I am thinking about whether to go back to the office or go home early for a change. I decide on the latter and enter my house in time to see Blondie removing a roast from the oven to put in some vegetables. She is surprised to see me, and says, “Go wash up, we can eat early if you like.” “Yes, that sounds great.” The boys rush in from the other room surprised to see their dad home early for once. After rough housing a bit in the living room, we all wash up and report to the table for dinner. During dinner we chat about the boys’ daily activities and Blondie discusses some of the cases she is reviewing at her job.
