It’s a new day and I call and check in with Chief Deputy Morse. They have had a cop follow up with Esmeralda’s parents. A tiny bit of interesting information came from the interview. Emme had recently been given a small gold chain with a gold cross. On the back of the cross was engraved her nickname “Emme.” When the body was discovered and the police did an extensive search of the alley they did not turn up her necklace. They believe the perp took it as a trophy of his work, killing her.
Chief Deputy Morse has had a policeman following Clarence McDonald since he turned up with information at The Arizona Republic and I forwarded that information to their attention.
