MCLAIN HOUSE
After dinner, I am telling Blondie about how Specs has assigned me to this weird story about a missing partner who has absconded with a great deal of money. Apparently the man that he stole money from is a close friend of Specs. A guy he went to school with and highly respected. This man, Jack Roper is now a broken man and very down on his luck. Specs would like to help him, so assigned me the story to write about his missing partner, a guy named John Willits.
On Sunday Blondie reads my story and says it breaks her heart. I pulled out all the heartstrings on this story.
On Monday everyone at the paper and the police department is talking about this story. Funny they don’t comment on most of my stories about crime, mayhem, or murder, but this one gets them. Most don’t rememb
