Lena reveals the truth: Aria’s a werewolf from a powerful, cursed bloodline. Jaxon appears, offering help—but he's from a rival pack. Trust doesn’t come easy.

Act 2: Transformation

Aria trains with Lena, trying to control her powers while maintaining a “normal” life. But things spiral—packs are at war, and Dorian wants her power. Aria’s first shift is agonizing but powerful. Act 3: Power & Betrayal

With help from unexpected allies, she learns to wield her powers. She wins—but everything changes. A greater threat looms, hinting that Aria’s story is just beginning.

Chapter One: Something Wicked in the Woods
If someone told me I’d wake up on my eighteenth birthday with a killer migraine, a busted lip, and blood under my fingernails — I probably would’ve laughed and gone back to bed. But here I am, standing in my room like I just walked out of a horror movie. Or into one. It all started the night before, during what was supposed to be a chill birthday bonfire in the woods. Keyword: supposed to. Me, my bestie Sasha, and a few kids from school sneaked out to the edge of Silverwood Forest — because nothing screams "great life choices" like drinking cheap cider under ancient, creepy-ass trees that whisper when the wind blows. I didn’t even want a big birthday thing. Just some low-key vibes and maybe a kiss from Marcus Kane — the school heartthrob with the emotional depth of a puddle but abs carved by the gods. Instead, I got… something else. Something wild. Something wrong. Flashback to last night: the fire crackling, Sasha daring me to chug a warm beer, and then this pull—like my bones wanted to crawl out of my skin and run into the woods without me. My head throbbed. My hands started shaking. And suddenly, the shadows got darker. Deeper. And I swear, I saw something with glowing red eyes watching me from the trees. Yeah, no thanks. “Aria! You good?” Sasha had asked, her smile faltering. I remember nodding, lying through my teeth, and wandering off with the worst excuse ever. “Gotta pee!” Total classic. But instead of relieving myself, I nearly died. I got attacked. Something fast — way too fast — came crashing through the trees. I ran. I tripped. I fought back. And I don't remember much else except my own scream echoing through the woods and this… snap inside my chest. Not pain exactly. More like... a switch flipping. The rest was just teeth, blood, and chaos. And now, here I am. Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, eyes bloodshot, hair a tangled mess, and my favorite hoodie torn like I’d gone through a shredder. There’s a scratch on my collarbone that looks deep, like an animal tried to mark me — and my hands? Still shaking. Something’s wrong with me. Like seriously wrong. Before I can spiral any further, there’s a knock on my bedroom door. Two quick taps, one long. The secret knock. It’s Gran. “You up, baby girl?” “Uh, yeah,” I croak, trying to wipe the dried blood off my neck. “Just… rough night.” She peeks her head in, her white curls wild and her knit shawl hanging off one shoulder. “Mmm. You’ve got the look.” “What look?” “The ‘I saw death and it winked at me’ look. Come downstairs. I made tea.” Gran’s always been a little witchy. Literally. People in town call her “that moon woman” and avoid her at the grocery store like she’s cursed. I used to think they were just being dramatic. Now I’m not so sure. Downstairs, the scent of cinnamon and mugwort hits me like a wave. Gran hands me a steaming cup and stares like she’s waiting for something to fall off my face. Finally, she sighs. “It’s starting,” she mutters. “What’s starting?” She doesn’t answer. Instead, she reaches over and places her wrinkled hand on my chest, right over my heart. It flutters like a panicked bird. “Your blood’s waking up.” Okay, what? My blood’s waking up? I swear if this is some kind of herbal tea detox metaphor, I’m not ready for it. “What are you talking about?” I ask, pulling back. Gran gives me a long, tired look. “You’re not normal, Aria. You never were. And last night? That wasn’t just a bad trip or a wild animal. That was *the beginning*. Your body’s changing. You’ve got the gift.” “Gift?” I laugh, bitter. “What kind of gift comes with scratches and blood?” “The kind that comes with claws and fangs.” My stomach flips. And that’s when she says it. “You’re a werewolf, Aria.” I nearly choke on my tea. “A what?” She doesn’t blink. “You heard me.” There’s a solid ten seconds of silence before I burst out laughing. “Gran, seriously. Werewolves? That’s… not real. That’s some Halloween town nonsense.” But she’s not laughing. She’s dead serious. And something about the way her eyes shimmer in the morning light makes me believe her. Just a little. Just enough to panic. “I—I need air,” I say, bolting outside. My head’s spinning. Werewolves? Bloodlines? What even is my life right now? And as if the universe wants to throw salt on the wound, he pulls up. Jaxon freaking Cross. The new guy in school with the leather jacket, tragic backstory vibes, and a jawline so sharp it could cut glass. He’s leaning against his motorcycle like he belongs in a music video, all broody and mysterious. “You okay?” he calls out, eyes scanning me like he already knows something’s up. “I’m fine,” I lie, again. “Just… taking a walk.” He raises an eyebrow. “With no shoes?” I look down. Crap. “Don’t judge me,” I mumble. “I’m not. Just… be careful out here.” “Why? Something bitey lurking in the woods?” He stiffens. Just for a second. But I catch it. “Maybe,” he says quietly. Then he hops on his bike and rides off like some cryptic romance novel anti-hero. And now I’m definitely not okay. I spend the rest of the day avoiding everyone. Gran keeps trying to talk to me about “the awakening” and “pack dynamics,” but I shut my door and pretend I’m asleep. But that night? That night is when everything goes to hell. I wake up to howling. Not from the woods — from right outside my damn window. A low, guttural growl shakes the glass panes. My room is freezing. The air feels charged, like the moment before lightning strikes. Then… the scream. Someone screams from the forest. It’s high-pitched. Terrified. Sasha. I bolt upright, heart slamming against my ribs. I don’t even think. I just run — barefoot, still in my pajamas — straight into the trees. The wind’s howling, the moon is full and red, and everything feels wrong. That’s when I see it. A massive black wolf, twice the size of a normal one, eyes glowing like embers, standing over a limp body. And just behind it? Another figure. A man. Tall. Cloaked in shadows. Watching me. Smiling. To be continued…
