“Oh. Reid. What are you doing here??” I ask him.  “That’s a weird question. I’m inside a pastry shop. Why else would I be doing here??” He asks . “Oh that’s true.” I clear my clogged throat and ask him. “What would you like to order today ?” I ask him. “I’ll like the strawberry short cake and a mocha latte drink, three pumps of caramel and one cup of ice.” He says right out. Someone has had his order memorized. “Are you going to have that to go or you want to have it here?” I ask him. “To go please.” He answers. I avoid looking at his face. My eyes flutter everywhere but at him.  “Coming right up.”  I pass the drink order to Heather who goes ahead to start working on it. Thankfully it’s already the wee hours of Monday and after a busy morning the in flux of customers have trickled.
