CHAPTER 2
WILLA'S POV
I held my head up as I stepped out of the plane, heading towards the SUV that was waiting to take me to my hotel. I was back home. Back for good? That I cannot say. The only thing on my mind right now, are my kids.
As I headed towards the car, I could here the hushed whispers of the people around. Some of them even took pictures. I don't blame them for it. It is not every time you get to see a star.
"Miss Willa? Can I get a picture with you ?" One was even bold enough to try and approach me but my security team halted him before he could get close.
As I slipped into the backseat, a small crowd was already gathering, their curious eyes fixed on me. I didn't need the attention just yet, so I hastily gave the driver a nod. "To the hotel, please." He zoomed off with a slight nod, and I turned to Diane, my lawyer, who sat beside me.
"So, what's next?" I asked, trying to sound calmer than I felt.
"You get some rest at the hotel, and I'll handle the rest. I'll let you know as soon as a date for the meeting is set," she replied, her voice steady and reassuring.
"Have you sent the email?" I pressed, my mind racing with the implications.
"I'll take care of it soon," she promised, her eyes locked on mine.
I nodded, gazing out the window as the cityscape whizzed by. Not much had changed, it seemed. The same buildings, the same streets. But I had changed. I was no longer the vulnerable, naive person I once was. And I was hell-bent on taking back what was rightfully mine - my kids.
We arrived at the hotel, and I bid Diane goodbye, watching as she disappeared into her own room. I took a quick shower, trying to wash away the fatigue and anxiety, but as I lay on the bed, my mind began to spin. Why not pay Damian a visit? The element of surprise would be on my side. He'd be the last person to expect me to show up at his doorstep. And boy! The look on his face would be priceless.
As I stood in front of the mirror, toweling off my hair, a sly smile spread across my face. I couldn't resist the urge to shake things up. Why wait for the meeting when I could take control of the situation now?
I strode to my wardrobe, my heart racing with anticipation. I'd been married to him for five years, I knew what to do if I wanted to drive him senseless.
I pulled out a showstopper - a ravishing red dress that stopped just above my knee, flaunting my curves with reckless abandon. The deep V-neck plunged precariously, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of my cleavage. The back, too, was daringly cut, leaving little to the imagination. I styled my hair and applied my makeup with precision, transforming myself into a sultry siren. Satisfied with my reflection, I sashayed out of the hotel and into the waiting Uber, ready to take on the world.
As I arrived at Damian's office, a collective gasp echoed through the room. Whispers and wolf whistles erupted, with snickers and side comments flying left and right.
"Is that Mrs. Anderson?" someone whispered.
"Can't be, she's too hot!" another chimed in.
"I don't care who she is, but I want a date with her!"
"What is she wearing? She looks like a slut."
"I don't care if she's a slut or not, I'd definitely bang that."
Both good and nasty comments flew around and I tuned them out, my eyes fixed on Damian's secretary, Bella. Her jaw dropped the instant she saw me, and I couldn't resist a playful jab.
"Come on, baby, pull yourself together," I teased, a sly smile spreading across my face.
"Err.. Mrs...An-Anderson?" She stuttered
"Is your boss in?" I asked, my voice husky. Bella nodded, still looking stunned. "Good. Let him know someone is here to see him."
While, I waited, my phone rang. It was Diane. Shoot! What do I do now. I let it ring without picking up. It rang again the second time and I was about the let it ring again but it will only ruin my plans.
Diane was smart and if I didn't answer her call, she'd suspect something was up. I had to answer.
"Hello? Diane." I said trying to sound as normal as possible.
"Wils? Where you at? And don't lie to me cos I know you're not in your room. I came to your room and knocked but got no response. " She said.
"Oh! I..uh...took a walk?"
"You took a- you expect me to believe that? Tell me where you are Wils."
"It's true. I went for a walk."
"You- but I told you to rest Wils."
"I know but I needed to clear my head. Being back here brought back memories and I needed to force them out." I lied, playing the pity card. And as I expected, it worked.
She sighed. "it's fine. I understand you."
"But is there a reason you came looking for me? I hope all is well."
"Everything is fine. I just wanted to let you know that I had sent the email to him. What's left now is to wait for his reply."
"Oh! Okay. That's great. Thank you."
"You're sure you're okay? Do you need me to....
"I'll be fine, D. Don't worry about me. You go get some rest. I'll let you know when I'm back."
"Alrighty. Take care of you."
I let out a huge sigh of relief when the call ended. That was a close one.
"He'll see you now." Bella said as she came back.
"I hope you didn't tell him it was me?"
She shook her head in the negative.
"Smart girl." I cleared my throat and adjusted my clothe. Let the show begin. I took slow, Calculated steps into his office.
