Pilar sat in the first pew listening to the generic service. The priest never met her brother and couldn’t offer much in terms of comfort for Pilar, but the strong presence surrounding her helped.
Someone else walked in after the service began, but she didn’t have it in her to see who it was. Probably someone who didn’t realize the church was occupied. She understood the mistake with only a couple of cars in the parking lot and a handful of people inside.
