The White Witch at Moondance Pack

The patrollers cautiously approached her, keeping a safe distance. They asked her questions about who she was and what she was doing there. Werewolves and witches were not the best of friends. There were centuries of mistrust between the supernatural species. The wolves were suspicious of her, and Eliza could sense their hostility. Eliza’s heart pounded as panic coursed through her veins. She knew she had to explain her situation before things took a turn. “Please, I’m not here to cause any trouble,” she pleaded. “It’s a matter of life and death. I need to speak with the Alpha.” The patrollers exchanged a wary glance, unsure of how to proceed. Eliza could feel the tension mounting as they opened a mind link with their leader, Alpha Gabriel. She could only hope that he would hear her out. “Alpha Gabriel, we have a situation on the Western border,” one patroller said over the mind link. “What’s happening?” Alpha Gabriel’s voice crackled over the link. Alpha Gabriel asked the patrollers over the mind link. What was it with that border? First, they find Lila there unconscious, and now, a witch? As the patrollers relayed their concerns, Eliza held her breath. She knew that her fate rested in Alpha Gabriel’s hands. She could only hope that he would listen to her plea. After all, her life depended on it. “We have a witch requesting to speak with you. She says it’s a matter of life or death.” Gabriel did not want to invite her into pack territory. Plus, he felt a need to protect his mate. The witch could be after her. Maybe Lila was running away from her? “Tell her I’m on my way. There will be no witch on our lands today or soon.” The patroller relayed the message to Eliza, who couldn’t argue. It was what it was, and she would have to play by the Alpha’s rules if she wanted a chance to get his cooperation. As Gabriel was leaving his office, his father was coming to meet him. “Son, we need to talk.” He had on a serious face. “What now!” Gabriel complained to his wolf Zeus. “Father, I’m going to meet a witch at our borders. Can this wait?” Markus sternly said, “Definitely not. I need to brief you on my findings from yesterday in the archives of the supernatural’s library.” Gabriel agreed this was important. “Walk with me, old man.” He winked at his father. Markus informed Gabriel of everything they learned on their way to the border. It seemed Lila was even more special than he could have suspected. He needed to protect her. He had made the right call of not letting the witch close to her. When they reached the border, the White Witch waited patiently, sitting on a tree stub. She wore a white, flowy dress. Her hair was long and white. She emanated pure power. Eliza stood tall and composed, accentuating her status as the White Witch from the Solaris coven. She took a step forward with a sense of urgency and introduced herself. “I humbly request an audience with Alpha Gabriel regarding a grave matter,” Eliza said, her voice tinged with emotion. “A she-wolf has escaped from the Blood Moon pack, and she requires my help.” As Gabriel and Markus exchanged worried glances, Eliza could feel their tension mounting. She knew that time was of the essence and that she needed to hasten. “She is not just any she-wolf,” Eliza explained. “She is someone, and I fear for her safety.” Markus took a defensive stance, and Gabriel’s tone grew stern. “We cannot simply take your word for it,” he said. “You must tell us more.” But Eliza knew it was unsafe to discuss such matters in the open. She needed to get them to a secure location and fast. “Please, Alpha Gabriel,” Eliza implored. “We cannot risk being overheard. Will you accompany me to my cabin nearby? There, I can explain everything in greater detail.” Gabriel hesitated but eventually relented. “Lead the way,” he said, his voice tinged with unease. Eliza could sense that she was playing with his nerves and knew she had to get to the point quickly once they arrived at her cabin. She remained silent during the walk, keeping her eyes fixed on the path ahead. She knew she had to be careful with her words and actions, as they considered her a potential threat. Her heart raced with fear and uncertainty as she wondered what would happen next. Eliza took a deep breath and invited them into the cabin. “Alpha Gabriel, I come in peace,” she said, her voice firm but calm. “I need to speak with you about an escaped prisoner from the Blood Moon pack. I wonder if you may have already found her by your reaction.” Gabriel narrowed his eyes at her, ignoring her fishing for information. What did she want with his Lila? Zeus was almost on the surface, ready to emerge from the slightest threat. But he nodded for her to continue. “What prisoner?” he asked, his tone icy. Eliza took a seat at the dining table. “A werewolf hybrid,” she said. “She was being held captive by Alpha Victor, but she escaped. I believe she may be in danger, and I think it’s important that we find her before something happens.” Gabriel’s eyes flickered grey. He said to his father over their mind link. “What is going on here? Why does she know about Lila?” Eliza sensed their conversation. “Alpha Gabriel, I have been working with Victor for ten years. Six years ago, he brought in a she-wolf and told me to keep her within the pack borders. My powers faded over time, and recently, an opening in my spell allowed her to run.” Gabriel was seething. This was consistent with what Lila remembered. “Know that I regret my part in keeping the hybrid a prisoner,” she looked at the floor. “But I did not know who she was. I only learned it recently while visiting my coven. We came across the prophecy of the vampire-werewolf hybrid. I suspected she was the one Victor was coveting.” Gabriel was trying to stay calm. “I mean her no arm, me and my coven, the Solaris coven, want to help and keep her protected. For now, she is cloaked, but that could change quickly.” Markus gasped, “Why? We do not have that information in our version of the prophecy.” Eliza looked at him, worried. “Why were you researching the prophecy? You know where she is then.” “Old man, what do we do?” Gabriel asked his father over the mind link. “I don’t know why, but I feel we should trust her, but it’s your call.” “She’s with us,” Gabriel said sternly. “She’s under MY protection, and anyone that tries to take her will suffer dire consequences.” His Alpha aura was rolling off of him like a waterfall. There was no denying his power. He made sure the witch understood he was not messing around. “She is my mate, and I will die protecting her if it comes to that.” Eliza gasped. They must not have mated because she was still cloaked. But this could change so quickly. Werewolves had a reputation for their lust and a lack of patience. “I know that my actions in the past have caused harm to the she-wolf, and I want to do everything in my power to make amends. I believe we can work together to protect this hybrid.” Gabriel looked at her for a long moment, considering her words. Eventually, he nodded. “Very well,” he said. “What do you suggest?” “I can get my coven sisters. We could provide some defence and cloaking spells for the hybrid and your pack until we better assess the threats against her.” Gabriel nodded. “Alpha, I would like to apologize to your mate, the hybrid, for what I did to her…” the White witch trailed off. He looked at her and scoffed, “That is not a matter for today.” “I understand,” she replied. As Gabriel and his father returned to the pack house, they discussed the recent event. “How am I supposed to tell this to Lila?” Gabriel asked his father. “One word at a time,” Markus looked at Gabriel. “She has a right to know and should be a part of decisions made regarding her.” While Gabriel knew his father was right, he would lock Lila up if it meant she would be protected from whoever or whatever was after. He would tell her about the witches, but not right now.
