Markus does research

As Markus and Gloria made their way toward the Toronto Porter Airport, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of nervousness and excitement. This was the first time they had travelled together in a long time, and they both knew that their trip to the University of Toronto was important. Gloria looked over at Markus, admiration shining in her eyes. She had always been in awe of his strength and wisdom, and seeing him now, dressed in his casual clothes, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. Together, they had led the Moondance pack for years. Gloria complemented Markus’ strength and power, making her an invaluable asset to the pack. Their bond grew even more potent when they started a family, with three children born into their pack. Their oldest son, Gabriel, was born just a year after Markus and Gloria became mates. The middle child was a son named Nathaniel, who inherited his mother’s intelligence and love for strategy. He left them several years ago to explore the world. And then there was Isabella, the youngest of their children. “Markus, I can’t believe you’re training to be an elder,” she said, her voice filled with admiration. “It’s such an important role, and I know you’ll do an amazing job.” Markus smiled, his heart swelling with love for his Luna. “Thank you, my love,” he said, taking her hand. “I couldn’t have done it without your support and guidance.” Markus couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation as they landed at Porter's airport. This trip was necessary for their mission to uncover the secrets of the prophecy. As they arrived at the University, Markus and Gloria made their way to the secret archives, their excitement growing with each step. A burly guard who looked them up and down with suspicion stopped them. “Hold on there, what’s your business here?” he demanded gruffly. Markus took a step forward, his posture confident and assured. “I am Markus, former Alpha of the Moondance pack, and this is my Luna, Gloria. We request access to the ancient documents housed within these walls.” The guard raised an eyebrow skeptically. “And what makes you think you could do that?” Markus met his gaze head-on. “I am training as an elder and have spent years studying the history and customs of our kind. I seek answers about an old prophecy.” The guard considered his words for a moment before reaching for his phone. “I’ll have to verify your credentials. We don’t just let anyone in here, you know.” Markus and Gloria exchanged a glance, understanding the necessity of caution. They waited impatiently as the guard made the call, his expression serious as he spoke into the receiver. A few minutes later, an elder appeared at the entrance to the archives, smiling. “Hi Markus, my apologies. I forgot to inform Lucian here that you would come to visit the archives today.” Markus stepped forward, holding out his hand to the elder. “Hi Jacob, thank you for coming over so quickly. I’m glad you’re here. You could help us. I seek answers about a prophecy that could have far-reaching consequences for our kind.” Elder Jacob regarded him for a long moment, his eyes seeming to pierce right through him. “That’s intriguing. Please tell me more,” he said with a smirk. Jacob had always loved a challenge, and this inquiry about a prophecy intrigued him. Markus offered, “I vaguely remember a she-wolf only getting her wolf later in life. Also, the she-wolf’s eyes are reminiscent of the Blue Moon, and her birth is related to a Blue Moon. I know, it’s not a lot to go on…” Jacob almost imperceptibly stiffened as he led them down the dimly lit hallway toward the archives. However, Markus couldn’t shake the feeling that Jacob was hiding something, and it only fueled his determination to uncover the truth. “Why the sudden interest in this legend, Markus?” Jacob’s tone was tinged with suspicion as if he was trying to dissuade them from delving deeper. Markus looked at him incredulously. “I’m curious, that’s all.” Jacob sighed, his reluctance clear. “It is said that a pure-blood she-wolf would fall in love with a powerful vampire on a Blue Moon and give birth to a hybrid.” Gloria’s curiosity got the better of her, and she spoke up. “Can you tell us more?” Jacob hesitated, then spoke dismissively. “I think there’s something about the hybrid only being able to shift once she meets her mate.” Markus and Gloria exchanged a glance, their suspicions growing. Jacob was holding back, and they couldn’t shake the feeling that he was hiding crucial information. Markus and Gloria exchanged an inconspicuous glance while Jacob had his back to them. The truth behind the legend of the she-wolf and the Blue Moon was within their grasp, and they were determined to uncover it, no matter how elusive it seemed. Markus’ frustration simmered beneath the surface as they reached the archives. He couldn’t fathom why Jacob disregarded the hybrid’s existence. “What if it is true?” Markus asked. “What if the hybrid exists? What would that mean for werewolves and other supernatural beings? I’m just trying to make sense of this prophecy and help Moondance prepare for it if necessary.” Jacob let out a sigh as if conceding to Markus’ point. “I’ll humour you, Markus, only because you are training to become an elder. You need to do research and decipher truth from myth. Here is the room of old scrolls. Please be careful.” Markus and Gloria settled in a room to explore the ancient manuscripts. As the hours dragged on, Markus’ frustration grew with each dead end he encountered. He had scoured through many ancient texts, but none held any clues about the prophecy that had haunted him. Just as he was about to give up hope, Gloria approached him with a sombre expression, her eyes filled with worry. She had been wandering around and found a piece of old paper lodged within a scroll about dragons. She handed Markus the paper, his heart pounding with anticipation. Markus could barely decipher the text written in a cryptic ancient dialect. But as he read, the words took shape, and a chilling realization dawned on him. This could be the answer he had been desperately seeking. Markus’ mind raced with revelations, and he couldn’t contain his excitement. His eyes were wide with awe and disbelief as he looked up at Gloria. Jacob was occupied in another room, so he missed the excitement. “We have a lot of work to do, but we’re on the right track,” he said, his voice unwavering. “We’ll protect her.” Gloria nodded in agreement, her expression serious. She hastily hid the paper where she found it. Just as they were picking up their belongings, Jacob entered the room. “It seems we are done here,” Markus said, his tone devoid of emotion. “Maybe you were right, Jacob, maybe this is all legend, and I got myself carried away on a wild treasure hunt.” “I can’t say I’m surprised that nothing is written about that legend,” Jacob retorted icily, leading them out of the library. Jacob shook Markus’ hand as they reached the exit and mentioned their upcoming elder training. His words felt hollow, laced with an underlying tension. Markus responded politely, but his mind was racing with doubts and suspicions. As they went their separate ways, the air hung heavy with suspicion. When Jacob returned to his office, he made a phone call. “Master, we may have a problem.”
