Lila nodded, tears of joy welling up in her eyes. “I don’t know what to do,” she said, her voice breaking. "Is this the start of me getting my memories back?" Gabriel took her hand and pulled her close, enveloping her in a warm embrace. “I’m here for you, Lila.” Even her name was so sweet. He couldn’t believe it. He wanted to say it repeatedly. “We’ll get through this together," he said, his voice reassuring as he laid his forehead against hers. A surge of relief washed over Lila. “My wolf said she trusts you,” Lila said, her voice full of surprise. Gabriel’s eyes widened in surprise. “I’m here for both of you. I’ve helped many wolves through their first shift.” He said, his voice tinged with pride. “She said you would help us,” Lila replied, somewhat surprised at how quickly her wolf had taken to Gabriel. Gabriel stroked her hair gently. “I’ll do everything I can, Lila. You need to focus on your wolf and the shift. Don’t resist her. Let her take over. She knows what to do,” he said, his voice soothing. Lila asked Gabriel to please turn while she undressed and shifted. Lila nodded, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves. With her eyes closed, she focused on the sensation of her wolf within her. She felt the energy coursing through her veins and began to shift. She cried out in pain as her bones began to break and reform, but Gabriel was there to support her, standing near her as she went through the process. His presence was a comfort to her, helping her remain relaxed. As Lila’s shift ended, she opened her eyes to see the world in a new light. Her senses were sharper than ever before. She felt her wolf’s presence inside her, and she felt more connected to the world around her than ever before. When she completed her shift, she nudged Gabriel. He smiled at her, “You did it, Lila. You shifted for the first time. This is so amazing. Your wolf is so amazing.” Before she could do anything, her wolf interrupted her again. “Hi there, stranger. I’ve been looking forward to this. I’m Venus.”, Lila’s wolf offered. “Venus, is that your name?” Lila asked, in awe of the beautiful creature that she sensed even more in her mind. “Yes, it is,” Venus responded with pride and confidence in her voice. “And I am proud to be your inner wolf, Lila.” Lila’s heart swelled with ecstasy at her wolf’s voice. “I can’t believe this is happening,” she said, with wonder in her voice. Venus’ eyes were a deep blue, the same colour as Lila’s, filled with fierce intelligence. Her ears were perked up, alert for signs of danger, and her tail was held high, symbolling her confidence and strength. As Gabriel drew closer to Lila, his heart pounded in his chest. The scent that enveloped him was intoxicating, an irresistible mix of Lavender and Vanilla that sent shivers down his spine. He couldn’t believe it was coming from her. Could it be possible? Could she be his mate? Venus and Lila had also caught wind of something remarkable. Lila's senses were heightened, her nose twitching as she picked up the alluring scent of patchouli. She moved towards Gabriel, nudging him with urgency, her eyes locked on Lila. At that moment, it was as if they were all connected on a primal level, their instincts kicking in. Zeus shared the same realization with Venus. “Mate,” they both uttered in unison, their voices filled with awe and wonder. Gabriel’s mind was a whirlwind of emotions. Confusion, disbelief, and longing battled within him. He needed to talk to Lila to understand what was happening between them. With a desperate plea, he mustered the courage to ask, “Lila, can you shift back so we can talk?” Gabriel couldn’t help but feel a surge of hope, a glimmer of possibility that he had finally found his mate and his pack's Luna. But deep down, he also feared the truth, afraid that it might all be a cruel trick of fate. The tension hung heavy as he waited patiently for Lila’s next move. Without as much pain, she shifted back to her human form while Gabriel turned around to give her privacy. She quickly put her clothes back on. “How do you feel?” Gabriel asked, his voice full of encouragement. Lila looked up at him, her eyes shining with wonder and amazement. “It’s incredible, Gabriel. I feel like a whole new person. And my wolf…” Gabriel offered his point of view. “She’s beautiful. Her fur is silver, like moonlight on water.” He said, full of admiration. “And you… you smell…,” Lila blushed. Gabriel closed the distance between them in a single stride, his hand gently tilting Lila’s chin so that she looked up at him. Their eyes locked, and Lila’s heart skipped a beat. “Lila, you smell amazing, too,” Gabriel said huskily, his voice thick with emotion. “Do you know what a mate bond is?” Lila’s breath hitched, and her pulse quickened. The mate bond was supposed to ring a bell, it sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember what it was. Venus had called "mate" when they scented Gabriel and his wolf. Her mind raced with the implications of Gabriel’s words, her heart soaring with hope. “I'm not sure,” Lila stammered, her cheeks flushed with anticipation and uncertainty. Gabriel’s gaze softened, and he smiled, a tender expression crossing his face. Maybe she didn't feel the pull as he did. “That's OK, Lila,” he whispered, his voice laced with emotion. “We'll figure it out.” Lila felt a surge of emotion within her, overwhelming her senses. She looked into Gabriel’s eyes, seeing the same emotions reflected in her. At that moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two connected by an unspoken bond that transcended words. Although initially hesitant, Gabriel leaned in, his lips hovering just inches from hers, the air charged with anticipation. Lila’s heart raced as she closed the distance between them, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss, igniting a fire within them that burned with the intensity of their newfound connection. Lila’s eyes went wide with awe and realization as she felt the tingles coursing through her body. A rush of emotions flooded her, ranging from excitement and joy to fear and uncertainty, all swirling within her like a storm. Gabriel’s smile was warm as he pulled Lila into a tight embrace, and she melted against him, her body pressed against his with an intensity that made her head spin. He leaned back slightly, his eyes locked on hers, his voice low and husky with emotion. “There’s so much we need to discuss, Lila,” Gabriel said softly, his breath brushing against her skin, sending a shiver down her spine. “How you smell to me, how I feel when I touch you... It’s all happening unexpectedly, and I’d like to consult my father.” He paused momentarily, his gaze never leaving hers, his hand tenderly cupping her cheek as he gauged her reaction to his words. “Lila, I’d like to bring you to my quarters so we can talk some more,” Gabriel said, his voice filled with urgency and desire. Lila’s heart skipped a beat, but she could not resist him, drawn to him like a moth to a flame. She looked up at him with a smile, her eyes filled with trust and longing, feeling secure in his arms. “Yes,” she whispered, her voice barely above a breath. “I want to talk, Gabriel. I want to understand what’s happening.” With that, Gabriel’s lips captured hers in a searing kiss, igniting a passion between them that consumed them both, their bodies pressed tightly together as they lost themselves in each other’s embrace, eager to explore the depths of their newfound connection. As they returned to the pack house, Lila felt her wolf stirring inside her, the attraction to Gabriel growing stronger with each step they took. The air crackled with tension, and they filled their conversation with innuendo and unspoken desires. “The blue moon,” Gabriel said suddenly, pointing at the sky. “It’s a good omen.” Lila looked up, and her breath caught at the sight of the rare celestial event. The eerie blue hue across the landscape seemed to reflect the intensity of their emotions. Gabriel leaned in, his lips brushing gently against hers. The kiss was soft, tender, and filled with longing. Lila’s response was immediate, her lips parting slightly as she leaned into him, her heart racing. The kiss deepened, becoming more passionate, their bodies pressing against each other as if drawn by an irresistible force. Gabriel’s hands were firm on her waist, and he could feel the desperate grip of her hands on his shirt. At that moment, Gabriel felt a sense of calm wash over him. He knew, with a certainty that left no room for doubt, that Lila was his mate. He knew they were meant to be together no matter what she felt or thought. When the kiss ended, Gabriel held Lila close, his arms wrapped tightly around her. He could feel the heat of her body against his, and he vowed silently that he would never let her go. The intrigue and suspense of their burgeoning relationship, fueled by the intensity of their emotions, left them both breathless, eager to explore the depths of their connection and see where fate would take them.
