Blood Moon Business

The head patrol came into Alpha Victor’s office with a worried look. “Alpha Victor, there’s something you need to know. One of our trackers just informed me that the witch has disappeared from her cottage on our pack lands. She packed her bags and left with her car. She’s nowhere to be found.” Alpha Victor turned from the window. His brow furrowed with worry. “What? How is that possible?” The guard nodded in agreement. “That’s what we’re trying to figure out.” Alpha Victor clenched his fists. “Gather a team of trackers and head out into the forest. I want the witch found and brought back to the pack immediately.” The guard nodded again. “Understood, Alpha. We’ll get right on it.” Alpha Victor exhaled sharply. “Good. And make sure everyone stays on high alert. We don’t know what she’s capable of or up to. I have a feeling this is just the beginning.” Fury spoke up. “Victor, we must be cautious. The witch is powerful, and she knows too much.” Victor sighed, knowing his wolf was right. “I know, Fury. But we can’t just sit here and wait for something to happen. We need to take action.” Victor wondered if the witch’s disappearance was related to the prisoner’s escape. Could she be the insider that helped the prisoner? Fury spoke up. “We will find the prisoner, Alpha. We will bring her back to you, where she will continue to serve us. She will play her part, or she will die.” Victor nodded. He asked Fury, “How could they have escaped? This is unacceptable.” Fury growled, “She must have found a weakness in the spell. Or maybe the witch created it?” Victor had enough of this witch. The stress of these attacks, the escaped she-wolf and the missing witch, got to him, and suddenly he lost himself in his memories. ***Flashback*** As the memory came flooding back to Alpha Victor, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It was a vivid flashback of the day that changed his life forever. He was away on business, handling pack affairs in a neighbouring town, when he received a distress call from his beta, Ryan, who reported an attack on their pack. Victor immediately rushed back, but he was too late to save his beloved Luna. He arrived to find the pack in disarray. The former busy pack house was now still, and the smell of blood and death was thick in the atmosphere. The sight of his pack members’ lifeless bodies scattered throughout the hallways was harrowing. As Victor entered their room, his heart was pounding in his chest. He knew something was wrong. He saw his beloved Luna lying on their bed, still and unresponsive. Her once vibrant eyes were now lifeless. Victor’s heart sank as he realized the rogue had finally succeeded in their quest to eliminate his pack. He approached her slowly, trying to hold back tears. “My love, wake up,” he whispered, shaking her gently. But there was no response. He could feel his wolf Fury, quiet since the attack, stir within him and growl. Victor fell to his knees, gripping Luna’s hand tightly. He gritted his teeth as he told them the bite wasn’t healing. “She’s gone.” He let out a heart-wrenching howl, and his wolf Fury joined in, mourning the impending loss of their Luna. The growl was so loud it shook the house. Every pack member heard the growl throughout the pack lands. Victor felt his wolf Fury’s sorrow and pain through their mind link. They had shared everything, including their love for their Luna. With her gone, fury had kept Victor’s emotions in check as best as possible. But that was not saying much. With his Luna dead, Victor also lost the humane part of himself. ***End Flashback*** Victor couldn’t linger in the past. He had business to take care of the following day. Victor, and the Blood Moon Pack, had businesses near town, including a high-end hotel, spa and restaurant. This five-star establishment was a sight to behold with its luxurious decor and modern features. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and large windows overlooking the forest. The restaurant offered gourmet dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Victor's establishment was a favourite in the region, attracting both humans and supernatural beings. Victor and Ryan arrived at the hotel early in the morning. As they made their way inside, the pack’s business dealings and his worries consumed Victor’s thoughts. “Ryan, do you feel that?” Victor asked, his eyes wide with wonder. Ryan looked at him quizzically. “Feel what, Alpha?” “The moon,” Victor replied, his voice barely above a whisper. “It’s almost full. It’s supposed to be a blue moon, right? Can you feel the power?” Ryan couldn’t help but feel a shiver run down his spine at the intensity of Victor’s words. He had never seen his Alpha so moved by the moon before. He felt his Alpha was slowly losing his marbles. Victor and Ryan strolled through the bustling lobby, admiring the grandeur of Blood Moon Manor. As they approached the hotel’s restaurant, Ryan couldn’t help but remark on the luxury surrounding them. “Man, Victor, this place is incredible. I’m impressed every time we visit.” Victor grinned, a hint of pride in his voice. “Thanks, Ryan. Getting to where we are now has taken a lot of hard work. You know this. But it was worth it to have financial security for our pack and its members.” They went to Victor’s office, where the accountant awaited them. They sat across the desk from their accountant in his office, poring over the financial reports for their various business ventures. The accountant cleared his throat and began, “Gentlemen, I’m impressed. Your real estate and manufacturing profits have risen significantly.” Victor leaned back in his chair, a rare smile gracing his lips. “That’s what I like to hear. We’ve been working hard to diversify our investments and maximize our returns.” The men discussed budget, strategies, marketing and such things. As the day-long meeting wrapped up, Ryan suggested to Victor that they visit a new high-end restaurant in town. It was an up-and-coming premier restaurant, and it was good for them to know the competition.
