[PROLOG] — IT ALL BEGINS
My life was all too perfect. I had a loving family, friends, and even a boyfriend that loved me so dearly. But that soon all changed on the night of my sixteenth birthday. I would never have thought that my parents would do such things to achieve money and power. Oh, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me take you back to when this all happened.
May 23, 2015
Beep, beep, beep. Smack.
I hate mornings.
Yuki, you better be up. Or you’re going to be late.
I’m up. Yawing. Geesh, sometimes I wish that I could sleep the day away. Oh, crap today is my birthday. Well, happy birthday to me.
I hopped into the shower and took one long hot shower. Just to heat up and then turn it too cold to wake up. That is how my showers has been since I could remember. I jumped out of the shower to the sound of my phone ringing. How the blood hell would be calling me at this time? I picked up my phone to see it was my grandma calling me.
Hello, grams.
Oh, my little fairy. Happy birthday dear.
Grams.
Oh posh, you are still little to me dear. Now dear, have a wonderful day. I know that you must be getting ready for school and, well, it is past bedtime here.
Why, yes grams you do need to go to bed. Living in England has a different time zone. Well, goodnight grams.
And good morning to you, Yuki.
I ended with grams and finished getting ready for school. Cannot be late. After finishing getting ready. I just so happened to make my way down the stairs to the kitchen. To find to. The most wonderful smell of breakfast waiting for me on the table.
Well, if it isn't sleeping, beauty is awake from her slumber.
And good morning to you too, Daddy.
OH, posh, honey bean. She is awake and ready for school. Now sit down and eat so you will not be late for school.
Yes ma'am.
I sat down and ate my breakfast and then left for school. You see, my morning was off to the most beautiful day of all time.
Time jumps after school...
After school, my friends and I headed to our hangout spot for a birthday bash. We all hung out at our favorite café. Chilling, and stuffing our faces with yummy goodies. I do not care if this makes me fat. I am treating myself just this once. I would have it burned by tomorrow anyway. Since I love to go hiking on the weekend, for someone who is not a morning person, she sure as hell will get up out of bed early in the morning for a good hike. Or so was the plan for a Saturday morning.
It was getting late, and I needed to get home. Mom was making a birthday dinner for me. We all said bye, and I made my way home. Walking home that night, I had a feeling that someone was watching me. I just ignored it and made my way home. But something else stopped me before I had made my way to the front door of the house. You see, in front of my house was the most expensive jet-black car in front of the house. I played it off by thinking that Dad's boss had stopped by to give him some paperwork.
I'm home.
Welcome home dear. Would you mind coming to the living room for a second?
So, I entered the living room and had this feeling of running. But as I turned to look at the doorway, it was blocked by two big guys in black suits and dark sunglasses. OK, now I am thinking I should have run the moment I felt someone watching me walking on my way home.
Dear, this is Mr. Leon Wilson. And his son, Sky Wilson.
Hello, Mr. Wilson, Sky.
My, what lovely formal manners, young lady you are. There is no need to be so formal with me dear. Sky says hello.
Hello, he said with the most unmanageable creepy smile on his face. Like he was thinking of all the deep dark things he wanted to do to me. That sent chills down my back.
Dear, please have a set. We need to talk.
Okay.
You see. We had no choice, but we required money.
What are you saying, father?
Sweetheart, calm down and listen. Mr. Wilson is here to settle the details with us.
What is going on?
Sweet child. Mr. Wilson spoke, and it sent chills all through me. You see, your parents owe me a lot of money. So, I have made the deal of settling the debt with a marriage.
My sixteenth-year life just stopped working for what seems like a long time.
You, sweet Yuki, will marry my son, Sky. Mr. Wilson said as Sky made his way over to me. I was in utter shock at that moment. That, I did not notice him standing there in front of me. Sky took my hand and kissed the back of it.
I hope you can learn to love me. Just like I have but the moment you walked in though.
N-n-n. My words could not be formal in my mouth.
Yes. That smile of his. There is something about it that I'm not too fond of.
No. I won't. Just seeing him with that smile, I did not want to be near him at all.
What?
You heard me right. I will not do it—not now nor ever. I ripped my hand from his and tried to leave the room.
Yuki.
You can't make this choice without my permission. I am old enough to choose what I want. And this is not it.
You, maybe, sixteenth, but you still live under my roof and if I say so, then you do it! My father raged at my disrespect in his house.
Why don't we calm down? Sweetie, why don't you go and pack your bag since you will be moving in with them tonight?
What? Did you not hear me? I said no.
You will do as you are told. Now get up those f*****g stairs and get you to think now! Tears formed in my eyes as I ran from the room. At that moment, I left the room and made my way to my room. I chose to run away and hope that I was not found. This way for the best.
Sky POV...
The moment she walked into the room, I thought she was perfect. And obedient. She would listen to my every word and comply so willingly. But as soon as she spoke those words, I knew that she was going to be a troublesome break and I had my work cut out for me. I watched the scene play out with her and her father fighting. God, what I would love to do right now is turn her over and smack that round bottom of hers for disrespecting her father. And then take what is mine.
Shortly after, her father sent her to her room to gather her things. I watched as that little devil ran up the stairs with a slight glimpse of tears in her eyes. Oh, all of this will change once I have her.
We waited for some time, and I was growing impatient. It was the mother that stood up and went to check up on her.
I will be what is taking her so long.
I wanted to go with her and drag her by her hair down the stairs and into my car. But I must be patient and wait. Father is watching. And knows me too well to just do something that would not be good for our reputation. It was not long before the woman came back with fear in her face, as she mustered up the unbearable words that would come to mind.
Yuki is gone. She ran away.
