Sometimes, we spend so much time trying to become someone worthy of being proud of that we forget to ask ourselves if the path we are walking is truly ours. He's Yellow is a reminder that your worth is not only measured by achievements, awards, titles, or the things you can put on a piece of paper. You are still someone worth loving even on the days when you feel like you have nothing to prove. This is a story about taking the longer and slower path toward love. About allowing ourselves to receive something beautiful even when we believe we cannot give the same kind of love back. Because sometimes, the people who think they have the least to offer are the ones who deserve the most warmth. Dedication For all the girls who felt empty when they weren't able to have the academic breakthroughs they prayed for. For the girls who measured their worth through grades, achievements, and expectations. For the girls who felt like they had to succeed first before they were allowed to rest, to dream, or to be loved. I hope you remember that you are more than the things you accomplish. A little note from the author The word yellow has always been special to me. It reminds me of the sun. Someone bright. Someone warm. Someone joyful. But the sun is also something we cannot simply hold. It is beautiful, but too risky to touch. It is close enough to see, but too far to reach. And maybe that is what some people feel like. Maybe some people feel like they have to stay distant because they believe they are too much, too broken, or too empty to be someone else's warmth. But this story is about learning that love does not always have to be something we earn. Sometimes, it is something we allow ourselves to experience. I wrote this story because I wanted to put my own frustrations into words. I wanted to write about the moments where we feel lost, pressured, and tired from trying to become the person everyone expects us to be. And I hope, while reading this, we all feel a little better. I hope we heal from the things we never said out loud. I hope we find joy in pursuing our own dreams, not just the dreams others have chosen for us. And most importantly...
