Chapter 17: The Unplanned

17 Michael's POV "What happened?"  Angel suddenly left after she congratulated me. It was actually bland yet sincere.  Xian followed her. I just don't get why she would act like that.  "Does she seem unhappy?" I actually didn't want to ask that. I know that this news is unexpected but we're talking about pregnancy. My wife is pregnant. My wife isn't just my wife. She's Margarett and she's her or their friend too. The rest of them congratulated me with a smile on their faces.  Little later, Xian went back. He looks serious, well he's always serious but this, different.  "Congratulations Michael,"  "Salamat pare," I accepted his hand. "Angel wanted to talk to you. She's in the garden,"  Suddenly, I felt a bit scared. I don't know why. I just felt that way. "Hey," Angel slowly lifted her head and stared at me for a moment. "I'm sorry for acting like that earlier," She gave me a small smile. Pakiramdam ko ay pilit ang kanyang ngiti. "I'm really happy for you, Margarett, and your new little one." Her smile slowly faded. "Then please tell me the problem,"  Ayoko man tawagin na problema ang magiging anak ko, ngunit wala akong ibang salita na maaring gamitin.  "Michael, let's not call your baby a problem." kahit walang nakakatawa ay nagawa ko pa rin na tumawa ng mahina. "It's just the pregnancy happened at a very crucial time. It's not safe for Margarett to be pregnant while she's still here,"  Suddenly, I felt like a noob. Heaven falls and the earth disappears. Angel is right. It's not going to be safe for Margarett to be here, especially for our baby. "I understand Angel," Tinapik ko ang kanyang balikat bago nagpatuloy. "I should call Margaret so we can talk about this. She's very concern about this too."  "That's better. I'll wait for you two here,"  I nodded and left her. Our friends were quiet when I got inside the house. They didn't bother to approach me and so I decided to just go straight in our room.  When I got inside our room, Margarett was sitting on the edge of our bed. She looked worried when she turned her head to see me.  "Love," I panicked when her tears started falling. "Hey, hey, what's the problem?"  Hindi tumitigil ang pagtulo ng luha nya. Agad akong lumapit at naupo sa tabi nya. Niyakap ko ang kamay ko sa kanya.  She buried her face in my chest as she cried. I caressed her hair, trying to console her.  "Angel wanted to talk to us," She suddenly stopped crying when I said that. She probably must have thought of this.  Her eyes weren't emotional at all. It was scary and concerning.  "We really need to talk to her," She said. I nodded and squeezed her hand a bit.  After she wiped her tears away, we decided to see Angel.  Angel was still in the same spot where I left her. She was still there waiting for us. When she saw Margarett, her serious face changed into a cheerful one. I sighed. Maybe she didn't want to scare my wife as she is pregnant.  "Congratulations," She said with a huge smile. She welcomed Margarett with her open arm and when she let go of Margarett, she slightly caressed my wife's stomach. "I guess we will be seeing you little one in nine months," She said with a smile. "In nine months?" Margarett asked with a high tone. Her brows were furrowed.  "Nine months. After you give birth," Angel said as if she's confused. "Anyway, I'm really happy for you and Michael. Your family is growing." She said.  Angel took Margarett's hand and she guided her to the bench where they sat. I followed them as I remember that I'm also part of the supposedly 'conversation'.  "Why do I feel like you're not really happy?" "Because I want you and Michael to leave this island," Angel suddenly said. She looked away when we both saw a sadness in my wife's eyes.  "Don't you want us here anymore? Does my pregnancy have anything to do with this?" Margarett.  "Yes," Angel answered. "I don't want to risk your safety here." Angel justified.  "But I can handle myself," Margarett sounds desperate when she says that. "And Michael would help me," She continued and eyed me for a moment. "I know that. But Margarett, you're bringing a life in this world. You have the responsibility to take care of it and to protect it." When Angel said that, Margarett started crying.  "But I don't want to abandon you here. I am also part of this world. I am also responsible for our safety," I tried to console her by caressing her back.  "Love, I think Angel is right." I decided to join the conversation. I'm also worried about my wife's safety and of course our baby.  "What? Do you also want us to leave them?" She asked as if I betrayed her.  "Of course I don't want to leave them but love," I sighed before I continued. "This is no longer just about you, us, or our duty. This is about our unborn baby. It's our child,"  Hindi siya humihinto sa pagiyak dahil sa sinabi ko. Mas lalo ko ata napasama ang loob nya.  "Michael is right. This place is not safe for you. We don't our enemy's plan and you can't join a war in this situation. I wouldn't allow you," Angel said.  "My sister is right," The three of us turned around to see Inigo. "Look Margarett," Inigo continued. "Leaving the island will be our silver lining. Leaving the island doesn't mean abandoning us. You could be a big help to us by preparing the weapons we will be using in the future," Inigo said which made Margarett stop crying. "He's right. The weapons here aren't enough to accomodate our needs." Red agreed. "Talaga? Makakatulong pa kami?" Tannong ni Margarett.  "Yes, big time." Angel said and helped Margarett to wipe her tears away. The rest also agreed about it. "Then I guess, we will be seeing Aga sooner than we expected." My wife said and held my hand that is on her shoulder. I nodded and smile at her to assure that she made the right decision.  "We'll call dad." I said and she nodded back.  Just like the plan, Margarett and I called her father-- my father-in-law, and told him that Margarett is pregnant and Angel wanted us to leave. Her father also agreed with Angel as he also know that it's not going to be safe for Margarett. "Mommy I can't wait to see you," Aga said.  Talking to our son made my wife more decided to leave the island. She's determined to help even from a far.  While we were talking to Margarett's father, Angel called Ariadne and told her my wife's situation. Since we're already member of the Minotaur, we can't just leave whenever we want. Ariadne said she'll process our papers immediately so we leave immidiately.  That afternoon, Ariadne went here in the villa and gave our documents that would allow us to leave the island. It was sooner than we expected but Angel said it's for the better, which I also agreed upon.  That night, a private plane was sent for us by my father-in-law. Margarett started crying again as we prepare ourselves to leave.  The girls earlier helped us packing our clothes. The guys were helping me to put our luggages inside the plane. "I'm sorry that I have to leave," Margarett cried and cried that I can't stop her. "It's fine Margarett. It's going to be fine," Angel said with a crooked voice. Margarett hugged her and cried again.  "Take care." Inigo said when Margarett let go of Angel. The rest of them asks us to take care and have a safe flight. "It's gonna be fine love," I whispered as we sat on our seats.  She can't stop her self from looking at our friends from the inside of the window.  "I just felt bad for leaving them in the middle of a war," She waived at them as we ready to ascend. "We won't leave them," I assured her.  The plane started to ascend and she began crying again. I couldn't do anything but held her hand tightly.  "It's going to be fine love,"
