"You are pregnant."
Those three words echoed like thunder in the sterile, quiet hospital room.
Doctor Daniel stood there with the result slip in his hand, his expression unreadable—but his voice trembled slightly. Though he had years of experience, delivering such news to his own nephew… a 17-year-old boy… was something he never imagined.
Noah blinked slowly, as if the words hadn’t quite reached him. His lips parted, but no sound came. Then, finally, a quiet, trembling voice escaped him, “What…?”
His heartbeat roared in his ears. His legs felt numb. He wasn’t sure whether the churning in his stomach was from the news or from what was growing inside him.
Pregnant?
How?
When?
That day…
That one mistake…
Lucas.
‘Am I… carrying his child?’
Jessica, his mother, looked like she had just been slapped. Her eyes were wide with disbelief. “No… that’s not… That can’t be true…”
Her voice cracked mid-sentence, her hands instinctively reaching for Noah but stopping midway, suspended in air, as if afraid that touching him would make it real.
Jack, Noah’s father, slammed his hand on the nearby table. “This is absurd!” His voice thundered through the room. “My son is an alpha! How the hell could he be pregnant?”
Daniel flinched slightly at his brother’s reaction but kept his voice steady. “It’s rare… extremely rare. But not impossible. There are documented cases—cases where a young alpha, still in hormonal flux, is exposed to a dominant alpha's rut pheromones. It can cause a secondary gender shift under extreme conditions.”
“Are you telling me—” Jack began, seething. “That some bastard’s pheromones just turned my son into an omega? Like that?”
Noah sat there, shaking. He clutched his hoodie sleeves, curling his fingers tightly, knuckles turning white.
He doesn’t remember. Lucas doesn’t even remember.
And now I’m here… with this baby inside me… all alone.
His throat tightened.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to cry. But his voice wouldn't come. The shame, the confusion, the fear—everything balled up in his chest like a storm ready to explode.
“Noah,” Doctor Daniel placed a hand gently on his shoulder. “This isn’t your fault, alright? You didn’t choose this. You’re not to blame.”
Tears stung at Noah’s eyes, but he blinked them away. He refused to break in front of his parents.
Jack’s voice was lower now, but it trembled with a mix of fury and fear. “Who was it?” He crouched down in front of his son. “Who did this to you?”
Jessica touched her husband's arm. “Jack, maybe now’s not the time—”
“No. I need to know,” Jack snapped. His gaze turned to Noah, who remained silent, eyes fixated on the floor.
Noah didn’t answer.
He couldn’t.
How could I tell them it was Lucas? My own rival? The golden boy they all love… who doesn’t even remember touching me.
The silence was deafening.
Jack stared at his son—his only child—and saw the storm behind those eyes. But he didn’t wait for an answer.
“You’re going to abort the child.”
Those words fell like knives.
Noah’s breath hitched. His head snapped up. “What…?”
Jessica gasped. “Jack!”
Daniel stepped forward. “Wait, you can’t just—”
“I said he’s going to abort the child,” Jack repeated, this time more gently, yet firmly. He reached out and clasped Noah’s cold hand. “You’re seventeen, Noah. Just a kid. You have your whole future ahead of you. You think you can raise a baby in secret? As a student? In this society?”
His voice cracked slightly—he wasn’t just angry. He was scared. Desperate. Protective.
“I won’t let this ruin your life,” he said, softer this time. “We’ll take care of everything. You just have to agree.”
Noah stared at his father, eyes glistening.
Ruin his life?
Maybe he was right. Maybe it would ruin everything. His studies, his reputation, his dreams.
And Lucas… would never accept the baby anyway.
He nodded. Slowly. Mechanically.
Jessica turned away and covered her mouth, tears finally slipping down her cheeks.
Daniel closed his eyes and sighed heavily. “We can’t proceed today. It’s too early in the term. Tomorrow morning is the soonest.”
Noah barely registered what they were saying anymore. His world felt like it was spinning, his chest so tight he could barely breathe.
Doctor Daniel placed a hand on Jack’s shoulder. “I’ll keep everything confidential. No one will ever know.”
Noah just sat there.
Staring blankly.
As if the life inside him didn’t exist.
As if a piece of him hadn’t already started to love it.
