My Stepbrother's Bride Authoress Love Mia's POV I sat quietly on the couch outside with my arms crossed, my head bowed, and my luggage packed properly close to me. Lots of thoughts were running through my head as I waited for the driver who was supposed to come pick me up. My mom got wedded to a billionaire, and I'm to move in with them. My mom left the day before her wedding to organize things before the wedding and asked me to prepare my stuff because, after the wedding, my new step dad's driver would come pick me up. I am Mia. I'm 19 years old. I am the only child of my mother, but now that she just got married, I don't know if this fact about me will change in a few years. Ever since I was born, I've never seen my dad, and I don't even know what he looked like; I grew up with just my mom. Mom met Mr Pedro, my new step dad, at her workplace only a month ago, and today they are married. When she first told me about him and his plans to get married to her soonest, I had a strange feeling about it. Like they hadn't even dated for up to a week before he was already talking about marriage. I told Mom I found it a bit odd and asked her to tell him to calm down and let them get to know each other properly before marriage comes in, but Mom's reply that day caught me off guard. She shunned me and asked who gave me the right to interfere in her life. She insulted me and called me bad luck. She said I was just jealous of her because she had finally found a billionaire who was willing to marry her at her age and as a single mother. She went further to warn me to stay out of her business or walk out of her life since I was already above 18 and now an adult. I didn't think much of it that day since my mom was never really nice to me, to begin with. I was already getting used to being insulted by her, so I just apologized that day since I didn't have anywhere to go to and promised myself to do everything possible to stay out of her way. I didn't approve of Mr Pedro or his marriage with My mom as I felt he had an interior motive, but there was obviously nothing I could do about it. He was also a single Dad with a son who was a year older than me. He never seemed interested in my Mom whenever he was with her. He just pretends to be. I've caught him a couple of times staring at my mom strangely, but even when he catches me looking at him, he would just look away like nothing happened. This man was very wealthy, and my Mom had nothing, and she was obviously nowhere near his class, so why was he so eager to marry her? What does he want from my mom? Or does he truly love my mom and I am the one overthinking? These thoughts were all that had been running through my mind since the day he proposed marriage to my mom, and I just couldn't get my mind off them. Cos, I've been standing here for about two minutes, and you didn't notice me. I even called your name twice, and you didn't respond," he continued. "Yh, I'm fine. I was just mmm... lost in thought, you know, thinking about this and that, but I'm really fine," I replied, trying to fake a smile " Alright then, I'm Mr. Steve, the driver that Mr. Pedro sent to pick you up, "he continued "Oh.. okay," I replied, still stammering "So shall we?" he said, showing me the direction to the car with his hands like a gentleman "Sure," I replied as I dragged my luggage to the car with him walking behind me. When we got to the car, he opened the trunk and put my luggage in it, then he went to the back door, opened it, and held it for me to enter. "Oh, thank you," I said as I stepped in, and he shut the door. He went for the front seat, sat in, turned on the car, and began driving. "Ummm," he cleared his throat, trying to get my attention, and when he saw it was a success, he began "So, Miss Mia, tell me, what exactly were you thinking about? Lost in thought cos, I mean, If I were you, I would be the happiest girl on earth right now. Yeah, cos why not? Your mom just got wedded to one of the wealthiest men in town today, and you should be happy, so what exactly is the problem? I'm curious." he said, staring at me from the rearview mirror. "Like how can I young girl her age be thinking so much," I thought I even tried asking her what the problem was, but she just smiled and told me she was thinking about what her new home would be like, but deep down, I knew that wasn't the only issue bothering her. I wanted to know if there was something else to see if I could help, but with her response, I had to back down and drive. " We are here" I said to get Mia's attention as horned in front of the gate. My gosh, it looks huge and beautiful," she said while leaning forward with her eyes wide open to get a better view of the house " Yes, Miss Thinker Bell," I replied in a sarcastic tone 'it's really huge," she said as she turned to look at me, still surprised. I could bet she didn't see it coming. "but why aren't they opening the gate?" she asked with curiosity written on her face as she sat back on her seat again. Who?" she asked again "Him," I said, pointing at Mr Hans, who just rushed out like a fool to come see was at the gate. "o..okay," she replied in a low tone, still trying to comprehend the situation. Mr Hans eventually opened the gate, and I drove in and stopped at the front of the house. " Miss Thinker Bell, I'd be dropping you here," I said as I stepped down from the car and made my way to the trunk of the car to bring out her luggage. " Okay, thank you, sir," she replied, smiling as she stepped down from the car " Mrs Anna will take care of you from here," I said as I moved her luggage to Miss Anna, the house help
