It was a rainy day when I first saw her, she is holding her doll while looking outside their glass window. Unlike any other house, their house is a bit big and dreamy. I sneezed because of the cold wind and tried to be cling more to the steel in front of me. I am just 5 years old at that time and my mommy said that we will just go to the market but I saw a cute bird and follow it until I find myself in this area. I tried to look for my mom but she is nowhere to be found. I waited and cried then the rain starts to pour down.
“ Mommy, look!”
Young Lauren said when she saw someone moving in their gates but her mother is so busy arranging the plates for their dinner. She looked through the window to confirm what she saw and her eyes widen when she saw a young man like her outside of their house shivering to death. She looked at her doll and asked her if she saw the child and because she is just a kid she assumes it answers her yes, then she proceed to go to her mommy and tell her everything.
“ Mom! There is a k-kid!” she yells at her mom who only laughed and told that she’s just seeing things because it’s dark outside. The thunders roar and she got worried so she runs back to the window only to saw the kid almost shivering and holding his dear life to their gates. She was told to be a genius kid so what she did shocked her mother.
She clung to her mother’s hand and dragged her to go downstairs and check the kid. She is having a hard time but then she is determined. Her mother only laughed and ride in her activity not until she opens the door and found the young Ethan almost dying out of cold.
“ Hon! Hon!” her mother shouted to his father and decided to run outside to get the kid. She is panicking when she felt how cold he was and how wet he was because of the rain.
“ Help me Lauren! Get a towel!” she commanded the young Lauren and she throws her doll at the couch to get a towel in their bedroom. She the handed it to her mother and help her to carry the young Ethan.
“ Who’s that kid?!” her father asked shocked to what he saw but her mother just hissed him and instructed him to help her changing the clothes of the kid. Young Ethan looks fragile because he is skinny and he have a long hair but aside from that he is really a nice looking kid that is because his father is a german. His nose is incredibly pointed and his lips are curved in an arrow but because of his condition it was pale and white.
“ I-Is she okay?” Lauren asked her mother peeking the boy who is currently sleeping in their guest room. He is now wearing a clean and dry clothes while Lauren’s mother is at the edge of the bed looking at him out of pity.
“ Who would do that to a kid?!” his father yells because of what happened.
“ Good job, princess!” His father tapped her head and kiss her because he is so proud of her at that time but Lauren didn’t understand what her father meant by that time so she just smiled and nod to him before walking towards the boy.
She tapped her cheek but it is too cold to touch so she settled in stroking the strand of his hair. For her young mind, he seems to be a sleeping prince… a very good-looking one.
“ Mom, why is he there alone?” Lauren asked in a sweet and sleepy voice until she just find herself yawning and getting up to the bed next to Ethan.
“ Do you want to sleep with him?” her mother asked and she just nods her head until she falls asleep.
Her mother and father smiled at the two of them and how innocent they looked like while sleeping next to each other. Lauren’s father then suggested to look at the things of the kid to confirm his identity and find his parents until they find a picture and recognized the woman. They called the woman and asked her to come by tomorrow because they find her son.
Ethan’s mother feels so thankful because of what she heard, she is in the police station and reporting how she lost her son. She feels thankful because the family that found her son used to be her friends when she is young .
“ Thank you, Amanda!” she told Lauren’s mother before spending the night at the police station because she can’t afford to go home right now.
