Chapter Ten
Ellie’s point of view
I didn’t go upstairs, instead, I stormed out of the house completely. How DARE he! Even after I specifically asked him to give me space and leave me alone, He STILL turned up for dinner at my house?! Even if my parents had invited him, he should have had the consideration to say no. Christ sake!
I just started walking, I had no idea where I was going, but some how, maybe subconsciously, I ended up going towards Raven’s house.
Before I got there how ever, I sent her a text message to make sure she was home, which luckily she was, and she met me at the bottom of her drive.
‘Hey, every thing ok?’ She asked when she saw my face. I had been crying on the way over, but had tried to get myself under control before I arrived… that didn’t happen.
‘Yeah, Yeah every thing is fine. Just had an argument with my parents’.
‘What about?’ I just shrugged. I couldn’t tell her that our new teacher who happens to be my ex (of sorts) who is also a werewolf was having dinner with my parents behind my back, could I?
‘Just random s**t, it's not important’. I told her vaguely. She smiled sadly and opened the gate.
‘Of course, you can stay, come on’. I smiled back and we headed up to her house.
Raven and her family were probably the richest residents in town. They had a house that was more like a mansion, but her parents were never home. It was probably why Ray spent so much time with her cousins. Being an only child to parents who seemed to care more about work then her.. It couldn’t be that fun.
I felt sorry for her some times, when they say Money can’t buy happiness, they aren’t wrong.
Walking in to her room, She was watching what looked like Friday 13th.. And it just stared. Excellent! Jumping down on her bed, She started the movie again and we started stuffing our face with her toffee popcorn.
Every now and then, i’d catch Ray looking at me out of the corner of my eye and eventually, it got so annoying, I just outright asked her what the hell was wrong.
‘Nothing.. Nothing, Just.. there is some thing different about you El’. I looked down, I wanted to deny that was true, but.. I just couldn’t. ‘You know I’d never tell any one what we talk about if you decided you wanted to talk about it’. I just nodded. ‘Did some thing happen over the summer?’ My head shot up. Why would she ask?
‘W-what makes you think that?!’. My defensiveness probably gave her the answer with out me having to say much else.
‘As I said, you’re just different’.
‘Yeah, Some thing happened’. I finally admitted it.. And to tell you the true.. It felt good to finally admit it to some one other than my parents or Mike.
‘What happened?’ I could feel the tears already burning my eyes and as soon as she saw them, she rushed over to me and wrapped her arms around me. We sat on the floor of her bed room and she held me as I carried on crying.
When I managed to compose myself I took a deep breath and just told her. I told her every thing. Well.. almost, I left out the whole ‘’werewolf’’ aspect and the fact that my proper summer romance is now our teacher.
‘Oh my god, Ellie!’. She was horrified when i told her about Brent and as I carried on telling her my tale of what happened to me, She started crying herself. ‘I wish you had told me!’.
I explained that she was the first person outside the family to know. She promised to keep it a secret and honestly afterwards… I felt so much better!
