Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight   Ellie’s point of view   I sat down at my work bench. My last lesson of the day was Science. Fun. Not. I wasn’t paying attention any way, and I didn’t care what I missed. My friends had tried talking to me at first when i walked in to the room, but I wasn’t talking to them, so they gave up. The teacher was rambling on and on about some thing, but I honestly couldn’t tell you what.  I looked out the window and just let my mind wander, to nothing imparticular...  I could feel some one nudging me, but again, I wasn’t really paying any attention to it, until the nudge turned into a punch.  ‘Ouch!’. I shouted out loud, holding my now pained arm, every one in the room turned to look at me. The teacher crossed his arms and gave me the dirtiest look. I looked down and apologised quietly and eventually, every one turned their attention back to what ever it was they were doing before.  ‘Sorry, Didn’t mean to hurt you, whats up?’ Sophie whispered to me. I just shrugged. ‘Come on, talk to me’.  ‘There’s nothing to talk about. There is nothing to say. Ok.’ I’d never been so standoff-ish with her before, but I didn’t want to talk about it, I just wished she understands that. She studied my face before nodding, finally letting it go.  Good’. I went to turn away and look back out the window when she stopped me again.  ‘So you want to go out for some thing to eat after school?’ I turned back to look at her and thought for a minute.. Well, it would be nice. I smiled and nodded.  ‘Yeah, sure, why not’ She smiled back and my mood cheered up a little I started focusing back on the lesson and actually did some work.      The last bell rang and I was up and out of my seat in a second. Sophie had hold of my hand, pulling me through the crowded corridor. People whizzed past me in a blur. I just kept on smiling, enjoying the old feeling of.. Just being free and young, as Sophie pulled me all the way to meet our other friends and together, we got in to Ravens care and headed out in to town.  ‘Where are we going for food?’ I asked, I wasn’t hungry, but if I knew where we were going before hand I could mentally choose what I was gonna get. I know I’m not the only one who does that. I smiled to myself at my own random thoughts. ‘Thinking Nandos?’  ‘Oh my god, yes!’. I moaned some-what sexually. It had been forever since I had a Nando’s...      ** A few Hours Later **    Me and the girls were laughing and singing our heads off as Raven drove up the drive way to my house. It wasn’t late, only just after 7, but I had a good time with my friends. I hadn’t laughed this hard in a while. I turned my phone off at some point a few hours ago, Mum kept ringing, but I just wanted some time to be a normal teen for a little while.  I said my good byes and headed inside. I could hear the music and their... God awful singing as the car drove away. Smiling and shaking my head, I headed inside the house.  I could smell the food, Roast beef. Lush. But.. random for a week day..  Heading towards the kitchen, i could hear chatter and glass clanking. Did they have company. Rounding the corner, I was about to apologise for being late when I saw Mike sat there..  What the hell was he doing here?!
