Lena nodded, her mind racing with anticipation and a touch of fear. She was going into a den of werewolves, after all. But with Luca by her side, she felt a sense of reassurance.
As they made their way to the pack's den, Lena couldn't help but notice the way the forest seemed to grow darker, the shadows deepening and twisting around the trees. She shivered, despite the warmth of the evening, and Luca's arm instinctively wrapped around her shoulders.
The den was a large, cavernous space hidden behind a waterfall. The sound of rushing water filled the air, and Lena's senses were on high alert as they stepped inside.
The pack was gathered around the edges of the room, their eyes fixed on Lena as she entered. Luca's grip on her tightened, and he led her forward, his eyes locked on the figure standing at the far end of the room.
The alpha, Lena assumed, her heart pounding in her chest. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the encounter.
As they approached, the alpha stepped forward, her eyes piercing and intelligent. "So, you're the human," she said, her voice low and husky. "I'm Alpha Rachel."
Lena met the alpha's gaze, her head held high. "I'm Lena," she replied, her voice steady.
The alpha's eyes narrowed, and Lena could sense the tension in the room. But then, a small smile played on the alpha's lips. "Welcome, Lena," she said. "Let's talk."
